Acute Dialysis Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position participates in the development and implementation of individualized and comprehensive plan of care for each patient, provides direct and indirect care to patients as it relates to their dialysis treatment, including pre- and post-assessments, and administrations of medications during dialysis. Assists in the review process for special studies indicated by the department director in response to organizational need and/or requests. Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process. Participates in quality improvement activities and actively seeks educational resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills. Collects data for physician review, contacts physicians, and schedules review process, prepares chart data/peer review forms. Assists with the aggregation of physician activity data for use in the Medical Staff reappointment process. Notifies the department director regarding any adverse occurrences discovered in the screening process. Job Specifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelors Degree in Nursing within 3 years of employment (with the exception of staff previously granted grandfather status). Experience: Graduate from an RN Program with three years of hospital nursing experience. Quality review experience is preferred.
