Calling All Serbo-Croatian Court Interpreters!
Do you have Serbo-Croatian interpreting experience in a legal setting? Metlang is seeking experienced Serbo-Croatian court interpreters for legal proceedings to include, but not limited to, proffers, arraignments, depositions, hearings, trial pep, trials, etc.
Established in 1990 as veteran owned U.S. government contractor, Metlang has become the premier provider of forensic interpretation and translation services to federal agencies that comprise the U.S. Department of Justice. Metlang maintains a comprehensive roster of highly qualified federal court certified interpreters throughout the country in over 100 languages and dialects. We take pride in building long term relationships with our court interpreters while providing competitive pay. Serbo-Croatian Court Interpreter pay rate is $97.34 per hour. This is a 1099 position.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Interpret: To translate orally, either consecutively or simultaneously, from source language to target language.
In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. When the speaker pauses or finishes speaking, the interpreter then renders a portion of the message or the entire message in the target language.
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter renders the message in the target-language as quickly as he/she/they can formulate it from the source language, while the source-language speaker continuously speaks.
Transcribe: To render the spoken word of a language into the written form of the same language.
Translate: To render the spoken or written word of one language into the written form of another language.
Analyze: To examine, methodically and in detail, the constitution of information for purposes of explanation and interpretation.
Requirements:
2 years or more consecutive and/or simultaneous court interpreting experience
Experience preparing court ready transcriptions/translations
Expert level fluency in English and Serbo-Croatian
Ability to interpret legal concepts and forensic terminology, as well as regional and cultural variations in slang and colloquialisms accurately, without changes, omissions, or additions
Ability to work independently and engage directly with clients in a professional manner
Capable of working well under pressure while maintaining the appropriate tone, speed, and projection of the speaker
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer software and applications in English and Serbo-Croatian
Physical Demands:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Serbo-Croatian Court Interpreter position. They include the ability to talk, hear, see, sit for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate keys on a keyboard or telephone pad, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Summary:
The Accounts Payable (Domestic Operations) Supervisor is an integral position within the Accounting department and is responsible for the verification, processing and payment of all operational invoices (in our business this means all payments that are not project related sub-contractors). This includes employee reimbursements, non-project related suppliers, tax and other regulatory authorities. Oversee proper GL coding as relates to GAAP accounting. Guides and advises junior staff on questions about the application of accounting rules. Is the point of contact for other managers and responsible for facilitating a working relationship between different departments.

* Resolve payment issues and answer payment questions from company vendors.
* Police expenditures - ensure that they are within policy/guidelines.
* Monitor the default coding in the Accounting system to ensure accuracy with regards to G/L accounts.
* Advise on proper GL coding as it relates to accruals, prepaid expenses and capital expenditures including fixed assets.
* Work as a team player and foster an environment of teamwork.
* Issue checks to vendors.
* Lease/loan payments - recurring payments to be made in accordance with underlying documents.
* Operations recurring payments - monthly payments for rent, telephones, internet and other services.
* Operations invoiced payments - irregular payments for invoiced items (non-linguistic vendors).

* Government Agencies and Taxation Authorities
* Issue checks for client refunds upon request from Accounts Receivables (AR).
* Issue replacement checks upon request from Payroll.

* Post daily batches.
* Check for inter-company codes and override defaults.
* Research issues as required.

* Communicate with our bank representatives to process paperwork and review returns and exceptions.
* Maintain an open line of communication with other departments (especially Finance and Operations), TPT offices and vendor AR departments - enabling the AP process to flow efficiently.
* Review employee timesheets and perform annual reviews.
* Coach staff on how best to navigate non-standard challenges.
Essential Skills and Required Experience
* 3 - 5 years work experience within Accounts Payable.

Monitor recording sessions to ensure instructions are being followed and provide feedback. Communicate effectively with engineers, talents and clients during sessions.
Post-production: All stages of post-production such as video editing, graphic replacement, subtitling and DVD authoring. Basic audio editing competency and ability to convert audio files to required formats. Complete a thorough and accurate quality check to look for mistakes in audio and video files prior to delivering projects.

Calling All Sicilian Court Interpreters!
Do you have Sicilian interpreting experience in a legal setting? Metlang is seeking experienced Sicilian court interpreters for legal proceedings to include, but not limited to, proffers, arraignments, depositions, hearings, trial pep, trials, etc.
Established in 1990 as veteran owned U.S. government contractor, Metlang has become the premier provider of forensic interpretation and translation services to federal agencies that comprise the U.S. Department of Justice. Metlang maintains a comprehensive roster of highly qualified federal court certified interpreters throughout the country in over 100 languages and dialects. We take pride in building long term relationships with our court interpreters while providing competitive pay. Sicilian Court Interpreter pay rate is $97.34 per hour. This is a 1099 position.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Interpret: To translate orally, either consecutively or simultaneously, from source language to target language.
In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. When the speaker pauses or finishes speaking, the interpreter then renders a portion of the message or the entire message in the target language.
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter renders the message in the target-language as quickly as he/she/they can formulate it from the source language, while the source-language speaker continuously speaks.
Transcribe: To render the spoken word of a language into the written form of the same language.
Translate: To render the spoken or written word of one language into the written form of another language.
Analyze: To examine, methodically and in detail, the constitution of information for purposes of explanation and interpretation.
Requirements:
2 years or more consecutive and/or simultaneous court interpreting experience
Experience preparing court ready transcriptions/translations
Expert level fluency in English and Sicilian
Ability to interpret legal concepts and forensic terminology, as well as regional and cultural variations in slang and colloquialisms accurately, without changes, omissions, or additions
Ability to work independently and engage directly with clients in a professional manner
Capable of working well under pressure while maintaining the appropriate tone, speed, and projection of the speaker
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, computer software and applications in English and Sicilian
Physical Demands:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Sicilian Court Interpreter position. They include the ability to talk, hear, see, sit for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate keys on a keyboard or telephone pad, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
