The Opportunity
The Associate Manager, M&A Execution (GG11) is responsible for the coordination and delivery of large-scale business transformation projects across the enterprise. This role works under general guidance to ensure program governance, continuity, and stakeholder alignment. The Associate Manager will contribute to cross-functional projects that impact business and operational strategies. Transaction Support
* Coordinate multiple workstreams or moderately complex programs aligned to business transformation goals.
* Serve as a point of contact for project documentation, tracking, and escalation of issues.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to facilitate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
* Maintain dashboards, financial trackers, and reporting tools for transformation initiatives.

* Monitoring Oversight: Define and manage ongoing monitoring requirements for AI use cases across Lines of Business (LOBs), ensuring alignment with risk tiering and control partner expectations.
* Control Tracking: Track and document the execution of medium and high-risk controls, ensuring mitigation plans are implemented, monitored, and validated. Maintain visibility into control status across the Responsible Use of Data and AI portfolio and escalate unresolved risks as needed.
* Risk Assessment QA: Provide independent Quality Assurance oversight of Responsible Use of Data and AI risk assessments, validating consistency, completeness, and accuracy of risk ratings and control recommendations across all zones.
* AI Impact Assessment Validation: Review and validate AI Impact Assessment documentation to ensure it accurately reflects the identified risks, recommended controls, and defined monitoring requirements. Confirm that assessments are comprehensive, consistent across use cases, and aligned with Responsible Use of Data and AI governance standards.
* Use Case Revalidation: Coordinate periodic assessments of AI use cases based on risk level (e.g., high risk annually, medium every two years, low every three years), ensuring timely updates to risk ratings and control effectiveness.
* Portfolio Management: Maintain a centralized risk registry of AI use cases, monitoring plans, and control statuses using IBM Watson governance platform. Provide visibility into the RUAI risk landscape.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with control functions (Ethical AI, Privacy, Information Security, Model Risk, Legal, etc.) and business teams to ensure monitoring responsibilities are clearly defined, executed, and escalated when necessary.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify trends, gaps, and lessons learned from monitoring activities and risk assessments to inform updates to Responsible Use of Data and AI policies, training, and governance practices.
* Regulatory Alignment: Stay current on emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, EU AI Act) to ensure MetLife's Responsible Use of Data and AI monitoring practices remain compliant and forward-looking.
* Reporting & Communication: Prepare and deliver regular dashboards and updates to Responsible Use of Data and AI leadership and governance committees on monitoring outcomes, risk trends, assessment QA findings, and remediation progress.
Required Skills:
* 8-10 years of experience in risk management, IT Risk Management, compliance, governance, or AI/data oversight roles, with a strong understanding of AI lifecycle risks.
* Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical, data, or governance-related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Risk Management, Public Policy).
* Demonstrated success in implementing monitoring programs or compliance processes at scale.
* Strong understanding of AI fundamentals and Responsible AI principles, including ethical, legal, and societal considerations in AI deployment.
* Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across business, technical, and control functions.

The internship is based at USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, and Charlotte, NC. Interns offered full-time roles may have the opportunity to work out of one of USAA's satellite locations.
**What you'll do:**
Our Quantitative Risk Analyst Interns, work under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members, including the following tasks:
+ Applies foundational knowledge to support the assessment of future risk, opportunities, and efficiency.
+ Applies foundational learning to help support the team in producing standard methodologies that quantify risk and aggregate exposures.
+ May assist with model validation activities and model validation reporting.
+ Participates in the production of analytical material needed for discussions with cross functional teams to understand sophisticated business objectives and influence solution strategies.
+ Compiles communication materials pertaining to analytical results, findings and solutions for governance committees and business process owners to influence business analysis.
+ Supports internal/external audits, regulatory reviews and rating agency requests.
**What you have:**
To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. **Our 2026 internship will start on May 27, 2026 and last through August 7, 2026.**

+ Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, or related field at a 4-year accredited university.
+ 0 to 2 years of related experience and accountability for simple to moderately complex tasks and/or projects required.
+ Foundational and conceptual knowledge of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to include banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or other related operational area required.
+ Foundational knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.
