The Opportunity The Sr Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of application platform solutions, with an initial focus on Customer Communication Management (CCM) platforms such as enterprise search and document generation/workflow products like Quadient, xPression, Documaker, WebSphere Application Server (WAS). This is an exciting opportunity to gain and provide expertise on these key business platforms, identify opportunities for automation and cloud-enablement across other technologies within the Platform Engineering portfolio, and develop cross-functional expertise. Success in this role requires knowledge of core infrastructure, along with problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Additionally, a continuous learneing with automation mindset is needed to automate manual processes, including handling service requests, configurations, installations, deployments, monitoring, etc. How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities) * Design, implement, and maintain application platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and performance of infrastructure components. * Create complex integration solutions through collaboration with engineers and application teams. * Design systems with redundancy and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and minimize downtime. * Collaborate closely with engineers, application teams, architects, and other stakeholders to provide technical guidance and ensure seamless integration of systems. * Plan and implement operating system, software, and application platform upgrades, including vulnerability remediation, to maintain system integrity and security. * Analyze infrastructure capacity and collaborate with Capacity Management, Production Management, Application Development, and Business Teams to ensure resources meet future demand. * Prepare and update technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, system configurations, and SOPs. * Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement resolutions efficiently to minimize service interruptions. * Identify opportunities within infrastructure-related services to enhance process efficiencies through automation. What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications) * 5+ years of combined experience in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and managing complex enterprise infrastructure platforms built on Java, Python, WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, or Apache Tomcat, etc. * Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible, Python, and/or Unix shell for configuration management and orchestration. * Strong troubleshooting and log/performance analysis skills. * Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills) * Experience or working knowledge of AI/ML-based proactive solutions in automating monitoring, detecting, and resolving infrastructure and platform anomalies. * 3+ years of experience on CCM and Document Generation platforms, examples can include but not exclusive to Quadient, xPression or Documaker. * Experience with containerizing applications and deploying on OpenShift. * Knowledge of Azure cloud platform. Qualifications: + Experience: 5+ years in application software development. + Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Object-Oriented design, Java or .NET frameworks, front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, Angular/React, XML, XSLT, SQL), and cloud platforms (preferably AWS). Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
