As chief economic development officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, David leads the team focused on the recruitment, retention, and expansion of existing companies, from start-ups to headquarters. The key clusters concentrating on are Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), Cybersecurity, FinTech, Creative Industries (Film, Music, eSports, AR/VR), Supply chain, Advanced Manufacturing, Bioscience (Biotech, HealthTech, MedTech, Pharmaceutical). Before joining the Chamber, Hartnett served as the president and CEO of Maco Pharma® (formerly United Pharma), a privately held U.S. medical device company headquartered in Lille, France. Before Maco Pharma, Hartnett was CEO of SteriFx® Corp., a specialty chemical contracted by the Dept. of Defense (DARPA). Before SteriFx, he was the executive vice president, Given Imagin., an Israeli start-up with corporate H.Q. in Yokneam, Israel. Under his leadership, the company commercialized the “PillCam” video capsule. He helped raise $30M via PPM before the company going public in 2001 (GIVN-NASDAQ), now owned by Medtronic. Hartnett served as vice president of marketing at ERBE Electro-surgery N.A., the largest manufacturer of electrosurgical systems globally. He has also served in various other senior sales and marketing roles for the following companies: Karl Storz Lithotripsy, Genzyme (formerly Deknatel), STERIS (formerly AMSCO), and the XEROX. Kathryn Kryder Putnam is a Chief Of Staff at Metro Atlanta Chamber and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. She has worked as Project Management Intern at Mark Iii Signs Inc.; Front Office Intern at United States Senator Saxby Chambliss; and Manager, Executive Office at Metro Atlanta Chamber. Kathryn studied at Furman University between 2009 and 2013, Kennesaw State University until 2018, and CIMBA until 2011.
