As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing precise, robust, high throughput metrology solutions for critical dimension, profile, and roughness metrology using online and offline techniques like CD-SEM, CD-AFM, electron microscopy to develop and control complex, multi dimensional thin film head structures in technology development and optimization at pilot and high-volume environments. You will also have cross-functional duties, primarily in Inspection and AFM, and will work closely with process engineering in support of wafer manufacturing, capability, and yield optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and own challenging applications in support of Development and Manufacturing as an Applications Engineer in the Metrology group.

• Set up, document, and sustain control systems to ensure metrology capability.

• Develop specification documents, engage with suppliers, and drive qualification, installation, enablement of new tools.

• Work with other Metrology team members to gather complementary measurements for base lining and qualifying application solutions.

• Cross-train across Metrology as needed to maintain support continuity.

• Partner with process-engineering owners to improve process-control and yields.

• Identify equipment issues and lead equipment engineering team and tool vendors to assure optimal tool-fleet performance.

• Robust structured problem-solving skills and Root Cause Analysis.

• Summarize, document, and present results.

• Communicate effectively with both management and fellow peers.

• Display comfort and skill in presenting issues/findings.

Minimum QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ph.D / Masters in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or similar fields.

• Demonstrate expertise and depth in the areas of Electron Microscopy, review related characterization and metrology techniques.

We’re looking for a Metrology Technician to join our Fremont, CA Team. This technician will assist in developing test methods for inspection of medical devices manufactured in a facility that is registered to ISO 13485, and in some scope accredited to ISO 17025.
As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will:

Perform dimensional metrology on precision vascular devices and components. Program dimensional inspection routines with automated optical inspection tools, such as MicroVu Review and contribute to the design and development of metrology fixtures, tools and software Work with closely with Manufacturing, Process Development, and R&D Engineers to support existing metrology processes Handle Metrology equipment PM, calibration, and general laboratory auditing and maintenance Train Manufacturing Operators and Technicians on metrology processes and best practices Demonstrate best practices in optical and other metrology techniques Possess competency in reading and understanding mechanical dimensioning, tolerances and engineering specs Have the ability to work in a matrix organization and contribute to the projects Have demonstrated a sense of ownership for work and prove leadership qualities Have strong team skills and the ability to work professionally with all teammates

Education and Experience:


High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Certification or Associates degree a plus. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Metrology or similar photonics field or Quality Formal or on-the-job training of MicroVu or similar metrology equipment Must possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to read and write technical documentation Intermediate mathematical skills and understanding of basic math and geometry. Strong understanding of measurement concepts and ability to interpret engineering drawings per ASME and ISO standards. GD&T experience is desirable Strong organizational skills with regards to data collection and basic analysis Ability to perform visual inspection of vascular devices and metrology tooling Proficiency in programming optical or coordinate (CMM) metrology systems preferred
