The Position:
Airport Security Officer responsibilities involve maintaining the safe movement of traffic and pedestrians, performing routine inspections and screens, and supporting surveillance activities of the airport and grounds. As typically the first contact people see when coming to the airport, the Airport Security Officer interacts heavily with the public and often provides travel directions, gives general information about the airport, and addresses complaints concerning parking citations. The position requires active movement or standing for much of the shift to help direct traffic, especially during peak flight periods and for special events. On-the-job training is provided for conducting inspections. This position is located outdoors. Work on weekends is expected, and overtime may be required.
Responsibilities:
Directs vehicular and pedestrian traffic, patrols outside terminal levels on foot, and issues citations to vehicles illegally parked or in violation of other parking regulations. Initiates the first step in the impoundment of vehicles due to delinquent citations or other violations.
Provides customer service to visitors, passengers, tenants, and employees alike. Enforces the rules and regulations of the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Performs recurrent security checks, vehicle and vendor inspections, and safety inspections; issues permits, and conduct escorts.
Works special events (airshow, dignitary visits, etc.), supports Public Safety Officers, as directed, and assists in any other task or duty assigned by the Chief of Public Safety or Shift Captain.
Conducts Persons and Accessible Property Screening
Performs related work, as required.

In this role, the selected candidate will gain general knowledge of flight schedules. They will learn and understand regulations governing the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as they pertain to traffic, security, and safety. They will also learn City of Knoxville taxi cab and limousine regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent, no prior experience is necessary for this position.
The selected candidate will need to become licensed or certified in the American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated Defibrillators once in the role (training provided).
Salary and Compensation:

The Position:
The Terminal Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient flow of passengers through the airport terminal while maintaining a quality customer experience level.

Responsibilities:
Performs daily inspections of the Terminal, including ticketing, baggage claim, concourse, airport Common Use systems and supplies; documents discrepancies and follow up on issues.
Reviews advanced flight schedules and aligns resource allocations for air carriers, coordinating with airlines and ground handlers to optimize airport resources, and resolving potential gate scheduling conflicts in accordance with lease agreements and deadlines.
Effectively communicates with various airport tenants to maintain operational continuity during irregular operations including aircraft emergencies, ramp congestion, diversions, terminal construction and severe weather.
Troubleshoots errors and issues related to Common Use equipment, baggage handling systems, and other critical Terminal systems and equipment.
Investigates and documents incidents related to general liabilities in the Terminal.
Uses and administers various computer-based systems to coordinate and communicate with airfield users, tenants, federal agencies, and MKAA departments.
Develops aircraft parking plans as it relates to remote and overnight parking, aircraft deicing operations, and support for irregular operations.
Creates, modifies, and provides statistical reports on the utilization rates, downtime of the airport resources, and forecasting for peak travel periods.
Monitors passenger movement and implements crowd control measures, as necessary.
Makes time-sensitive, critical decisions with limited information in order to resolve operational conflict.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with airline support staff and fellow employees.
Handles multiple assignments with frequent interruptions and changes of priority.

The Ideal Candidate:

What you can expect as an Aircraft Detail Technician at West Star:
Our detail technicians help the team prepare and clean aircraft for delivery to our customers. It requires basic motor skills and an ability to provide high customer service. Arm strength, basic dexterity and ability to move on and around aircraft are essential. Additional shop support functions such as cleaning of the hangar floor and shop clean-up are included.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
* Perform, wash, wax and detail work of aircraft interiors and exteriors.
* Polish, buff or treat aircraft sections as required.
* Tape and prepare aircraft for detail work.
* Shop floor clean-up and assistance in other minor cleaning duties.
* Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
What you'll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
Your Experience :
Prior experience in auto detail or cleaning is preferred.
Your Initiative:
We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
Must perform work in accordance with FAA guidelines
Maintain customer oriented work habits and a positive customer service environment
Must provide quality detail work to customers
Follow all company safety rules during the performance of duties

Physical Requirements
Lifts 30 lbs.
Routine walking, bending, squatting and sitting
Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands
Climbing ladders up to 12' in height
Working on various stands in and on aircraft wing areas on a routine basis
Mental Requirements
Work with others in a professional manner.
Understanding basic job functions and guidelines
Supervision
Work under supervision of the Aircraft Detail Lead and Program Manager
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position working in hangar environment.
May be required to work indoors and outdoors year round
Varied positions in, on and around the aircraft including working on ladders and work platforms

Various rags, towels and cleaning equipment
Floor cleaning machines
