The Integrated Practice Manager (IPM) has on-site responsibility for the daily operations of a small-scale, multi-service health center, including planning, implementing, evaluating, and managing healthcare delivery models, programs, and operations with limited support from Operations leadership. Duties and Responsibilities: Manages overall operations for assigned Marana Health Center (MHC) health center and programs in a professional manner, typically with both direct and indirect responsibility for multiple services (primary care and behavioral health) provided by approximately 15 staff, with approximately 4 of them being licensed clinicians. Ensures appropriate standards of care and compliance are met. Provides input for annual operations budgets and maintains appropriate fiscal controls to ensure the viability of programs. Maintains healthcare facility operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing policies and procedures. Uses available statistics, tools, and resources to gauge health center performance against budget, operating plans, and standards and applies results to develop required changes in daily operating procedures to meet desired outcomes. Complies with Federal, State, and local legal requirements by studying existing legislation, new legislation, and anticipated future legislation. Represents MHC by promoting programs and contributing to community programs. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care services by assisting Operations leadership in the identification of markets, following establishing standards, and developing rapport with healthcare professional, nursing, and administrative staff. Ensures staff performance through coaching, counseling, disciplining, mentoring, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job performance. Selects and maintains qualified personnel on the health center team. Develops staff by providing mentorship, information, education opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities. Partners with other MHC Departments to provide training and assessment as required. Develops skills as a Superuser of the MHC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and provides training and assessment to all levels of personnel in the health center. Uses all available tools to enhance performance and ensure continued growth of the health center. Interacts with MHC facilities maintenance or outside vendors to maintain a safe and functional facility, including timely initiation and follow-up for service requests and immediately addressing any safety issues that arise related to building renovations or required repairs. Ensures proper safety and function of equipment through oversight of equipment maintenance and assisting Operations leadership with planning and controlling space allocations, building additions, service expansions, and equipment purchasing. Maintains cooperative relationships among the team members by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in problem-solving activities. Manages clinician scheduling to include schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring for appropriate usage. Works directly with clinicians and support staff to streamline patient scheduling and enhance patient satisfaction by providing ongoing training and guidance. Partners with clinicians to meet charting and desktop completion timelines. Ensures security of the health center by managing building access (keys, alarm codes) and following established security protocols regarding responding to building alarms. Ensures education, training, and credentialing of staff is completed as required and maintains current and accurate employee site files. Functions as the main point of contact for third-party regulatory or accreditation agencies. Carries out tasks in support of project management as assigned by Operations leadership. The Security Officer must demonstrate the appropriate level of professionalism and self-initiative in successfully performing all security functions, duties, tasks, assignments, and responsibilities following well-established procedures of the Security Department and its varied operations. The Security Officer works with general supervision and review, following well-established procedures that utilize defined and limited independent judgment. Any issues or problems involving departures from standard policies, interpretations, or procedures the Security Officer will communicate with the Security Supervisor for review and direction on a resolution. Essential Job Functions: Performs all security duties, tasks, and assignments supporting Security Department operations within established time frames; meeting established rates of performance for the quality and quantity of work for the position, demonstrating a level of quality, efficiency, and accuracy in the employee's job performance that ensures the highest standards of excellence. Essential Job Functions: Assists mechanical engineer with maintaining building climate by installing, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning equipment. Troubleshoots and corrects electrical issues associated with lighting, switches, electrical junction boxes and circuit breakers. Performs lighting upgrade retrofit, utilizes voltage testers, receptacle testers, digital specialty testers and multimeters. Maintains and uses facilities maintenance equipment; welder, soldering torch, portable generators, table saw, industrial grinder, power paint sprayer, pressure washer, electric drain auger, etc. Maintains and repairs all clinical and administrative building issues; plumbing repair and install (copper, PVC, ABS), window seal repair and replacement, water filter replacement, water heater flush, fire system emergency lighting test/troubleshooting and repair, door lock sets repair and replacement, install and adjust door closures, tile install (VCT, carpet) ceiling tile and grid install, install and repair drywall, apply tape, texture and paint, repairs damaged parking lot asphalt. Performs and documents monthly elevator inspections and fire extinguisher inspections. Informs new patients of MHC's current payment policy. * Collects payments made to outstanding accounts. * Refers patient to Eligibility Enrollment Specialist for Sliding Fee Scale eligibility if identified or if a change in payor source code is identified. * Answers telephone calls and questions regarding patient accounts, services provided by the clinic and other pertinent questions. * Provides patients with information regarding cost of procedures. * Refers new patients to Membership/Enrollment to get information regarding services available through insurance and cost of procedures/services. * Reviews encounter forms for services rendered for completeness and accuracy, computes fees charged for services and informs patient of account activity. * Checks patient out in PMS and schedules appropriate follow-up appointment. * Balances daily charges from encounters to charges entered in the computer. * Provides coverage for other health centers as required. * Participates in in-service/education regarding Quality Improvement or required job-focused education. * Uses appropriate incident reporting procedures when documenting unsafe or problematic incidents involving patients, clients and/or staff. * Completes Incident Report accurately and follows procedures completely. * Makes daily reminder calls for future services/appointments. * Performs other related duties as assigned.
