    Delivers high quality customer service and thrives in a collaborative fast-paced, multidisciplinary approach to total patient care. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of practice with the Florida Board of Nursing Practice Act. Responsible for delivering routine patient care for newborns through adolescents in a family centered care environment. Job Specific Duties * Completes nursing pain assessment, pain reassessments, and vitals within appropriate timeframe. Communicates with RN to provide updates on nursing interventions, and pertinent information. * Assists with collecting specimens, transporting specimens to laboratory, obtaining medication from pharmacy, performing EKG, performing CPR, and assisting in various procedures as needed. * Provides point of care testing with documentation of results in the EMR to include: RSV, Flu, Strep, Pregnancy Tests, I stat - glucose, Occult blood. * Actively supports patient by transporting to all areas within the hospital for procedures and admissions. Provides support to the RN to manage flow of patients efficiently during the shift. * Administers appropriate medications and assists with IV Therapy. * Completes bedside hand off communication at shift change, transfers, and patient reassignments. * Provides discharge planning paperwork including school notes and participates in patient and family teaching. * Documents nursing interventions and patient response in a timely manner according to departmental procedures in the Electronic Health record. * Responsible for restocking of supplies. Assists with room preparation and turnover. * Promotes an "error free" working environment by consistently providing high-quality safe care as prompted. * Works to meet/exceed department standards & achieve hospital-wide CEI/SEI standards by completing documents in a timely manner, & being accountable to regulatory requirements of accrediting agencies. * Provides continuous supervision, observation of behavioral health patients, and adheres to non-violent crisis intervention strategies (CPI). Minimum Job Requirements * Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment * American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment * Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within one year in the position * American Heart Association PALS required within 2 years in position - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment * Level II Background Check - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment * Successfully completed 30-hour post graduate course on IV Therapy (Current employees will have until 10/31/2025 to successfully complete the IV Therapy course) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * ACLS within 1 year in the position and in good standing throughout employment preferred * Nursing experience in a pediatrics hospital is preferred * Strong customer service, problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and strong time management skills * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Ability to navigate and effectively utilize electronic patient care record * Performs accurate calculations for medication administration * Ability to perform the duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Care Act, ANA Code of Ethics and * Standards of Practice and Performance * Able to work collaboratively and follow the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Nursing Leader * Dedicated to providing excellent customer service and meeting customer expectations

Job Specific Duties * Ensures completion of patient admission history and accurately completes the discharge planning process as per department and hospital policies and procedures. * Plans, implements and documents the plan of care in collaboration with the other disciplines and services to assure safe and efficient care. * Provides nursing care that includes IV site monitoring, specimen collection and assists medical team with specific procedures. * Follows physician's orders, administers and reconstitutes medications when needed. Adheres to five rights of medication administration per Medication Administration policy. * Collaborates and participates in daily rounds with multi-disciplinary team as appropriate and fosters a Family Centered Care Environment. * Utilizes electronic innovations to provide efficient patient care and attends to patient call lights in a manner that promotes patient safety per hospital policy. * Ensures proper and safe sedation administration to patients and monitors recovery as per the Sedation policy and procedure. * Completes all nursing multi-system assessment that includes head to toe, vitals, dressing changes, suction, feeding, bathing ,med administration, and repositioning. * Ensures appropriate restraint orders, use and documentation as required by Sedation policy and procedure. * Accesses electronic health record (EHR) independently according to hospital policy and completes accurate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record. * Communicates and documents critical lab results per hospital policy and procedures. * Communicates with patients and families to review plan of care and solicits input; communicates any patient and family concerns to physician. * Promotes a working environment that is "error free" in all quality indicators through assessment of all body systems- prevention of central line and catheter associated urinary tract infections, avoidance of falls, ouch-free procedural pain and pain reduction, observes skin integrity for prevention of skin breakdown, ensures proper and safe wound care, secures endotracheal tubes when applicable, and zero based medication errors - by following the 5 rights of Medication Administration, consistently providing high-quality safe care as prompted. * Provides patient information and effectively completes the hand off process during walking rounds at shift change and patient reassignments. * Ensures proper personal protective equipment (PPE) indication and use.     Full-time Description The Licensed Practical Nurse conducts clinical nursing functions consistent with the Florida Nurses Practice Act with clients at the Central Homeless Assistance Center. These functions include but are not limited to: physical screenings, monitoring vital signs, collecting laboratory specimens, verifying and/or supervising the clients self-medicating, and patient teaching on various topics appropriate for the nursing profession and within the realm of standard medical practice. II. Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities: 1. Completes a standard nursing screening and identifies presenting problems. 2. Plans and conducts health education activities for individuals and groups. 3. Provides basic urgent care services for patients in the clinic. 4. Monitors sick patients by conducting rounds in the dormitories. 5. Demonstrates awareness and understanding of state laws concerning referrals, placement and treatment of psychiatric (Baker Act) and Substance Abuse (Marchman Act) disorders. 6. Plans a clinically sound care plan that identifies specific problem areas that justify level of care, relevant goals and behavioral objectives with appropriate interventions. 7. Works with clients on medication compliance issues, supervising the client's self- administering medication and teaching self-medicating techniques. 8. Maintains medication lists for all patients in the electronic records system. 9. Enters all nursing interventions and encounters in the electronic records system according to Agency policies and procedure. 10. Escalates medical concerns to supervisor or medical practitioner/physician. 11. Assists in the completion of nursing supportive treatment ordered by the Agency's licensed medical provider. 12. Demonstrates proficiency in managing and de-escalating clients. 13. Participates in referral and discharge planning with the client and members of the multidisciplinary team involved with the client. 14.
