We are currently seeking FT Warehouse Clerk at our homeless shelters for men, women and children in Miami and Hollywood, FL. JOB SUMMARY The Warehouse Clerk/Driver reports to the Food Service Manager and is responsible for food preparation, storage, handling and serving in an institutional type setting. DUTIES Sort and place materials or items on racks, selves or bins according to perishability status, size, type, style, color, or product code Arrange items in an organized manner to avoid damage or premature wear and tear Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and the public Open bales, crates, and pallets for proper storage Receive incoming donation and complete Gift in Kind receipts for donor Provide timely GIK reports as requested Conduct regular inventory of items received and complete appropriate inventory forms and reports Sweep, dust, mop, and organize the work area to ensure orderliness at all times Transport materials and donated items from receiving to designated storage areas Organize warehouse space by ensuring that everything is in properly stored and easily retrieved Monitor warehouse coolers and freezers for proper temperature control, regular maintenance, and reporting problems or needed repairs Monitor warehouse forklifts and equipment to ensure proper operation Assist supervisor in maintaining shipping and receiving logs and provide appropriate reports as needed Assist in procuring donated food and supplies by strengthening ties with vendors and developing new food service donors Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith Performs other related duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Requires a High School diploma or GED Must have a minimum of one (1) year warehouse experience and knowledge in food storage procedures Certified Forklift Operator Must be computer literate and able to compile reports Must be organized and detail oriented PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able stand, sit, walk, climb and descend ladders and stairs, and have the ability to lift and/or carry objects of varying weights Must be able to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 75lbs Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties PERKS AND BENEFITS Day off for Birthday/Work Anniversary Employee Discounts Holidays (12) Paid Time Off Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, GAP and Health Savings Account) Company Paid Life insurance 403b Retirement Plan with 3% match Only qualified candidates will be considered. We are currently seeking a FT Donations Sorter at the Broward Outreach Centers in Hollywood, FL, JOB SUMMARY The Donation Sorter reports to the Community Development Manager, and will help process and count Gift-in-kind. This person will assist with greeting GIK donors and give them a personal tax receipt at the time of drop-off and let donors know how important their tangible items are and make sure they know about a current campaign/volunteer project they can be part of. The Gift-in-kind must be received and sorted, counted and counts put on the inventory sheet that will be entered in the database. This person can also track and enter the data in data base as help is needed. CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet all donors cheerfully and thank them for their donation and tell them how it helps Give donors their tax receipt and let donors know about the current campaigns Sort all bric-a-brac, glassware, collectibles, dishes, antiques, small kitchen appliances and clothing. We are currently seeking a FT Faith Community Coordinator at The Caring Place locations in Hollywood and Miami, FL SHIFT: Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM (Some weekends will be required for outreach events) JOB SUMMARY The Faith Community Coordinator (FCC) reports to the Director of Community Development and will assist the Community Development Department in the moves management process for faith organizations. This process includes contact by phone, email, standard mail, and in person, including visiting churches and being able to speak to congregations about involvement with the Mission. Several weekends the FCC needs to be available to visit churches. The FCC will keep accurate caseload notes and provide reports of activities in a timely and accurate manner. The FCC is responsible for engaging the Faith Community to partner with The Caring Place (TCP) through various campaigns and financial contributions and engage volunteerism through Homeless Ministry Time, Chapel, The Crew, and Bed Prayer Patrol Partners, etc. The FCC will engage the Faith Community to become part of the 2 Fish | 5 Loaves Ministry and also oversee all of the various faith FOCUS groups. The FCC needs to be able to organize breakfasts/luncheons/Night of Joy/ other events for faith partners. Driving/Travel is required within Miami-Dade & Broward Counties to visit in person with faith partners. Must also have a strong walk/testimony of relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to explain the plan of salvation. Several weekends the FCC needs to be available to visit churches. The FCC will keep accurate caseload notes and provide reports of activities in a timely and accurate manner. The FCC is responsible for engaging the Faith Community to partner with The Caring Place (TCP) through various campaigns and financial contributions and engage volunteerism through Homeless Ministry Time, Chapel, The Crew, and Bed Prayer Patrol Partners, etc. The FCC will engage the Faith Community to become part of the 2 Fish | 5 Loaves Ministry and also oversee all of the various faith FOCUS groups. The FCC needs to be able to organize breakfasts/luncheons/Night of Joy/ other events for faith partners. Driving/Travel is required within Miami-Dade & Broward Counties to visit in person with faith partners. Must also have a strong walk/testimony of relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to explain the plan of salvation. CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares nutritious meals for residents in our Centers Ensures that daily inventory levels are maintained, and notifies supervisors when inventory is low Uses perishable items before other food items Ensures that cooler and freezer are stocked in an orderly manner to facilitate “first in, first out” system Practices proper food handling procedures Keeps supervisor informed of any and all incidents in a timely manner Shows enthusiasm in being a part of the Food Service team Greets clients and staff in a pleasant manner Takes pride in work performed and serves clients in a respectful and pleasant manner Abides by The Caring Place (TCP) guidelines, policies and procedures Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith Performs other related duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires a High School diploma or GED, and a minimum of 1 year of experience preparing meals in an industrial kitchen Must have a valid Food Handlers Permit Must have good interpersonal skills in order to communicate with all levels of staff, residents, and volunteers, and to deal with complex personalities of recovering adults Must know basic math to calculate recipes for large groups Must have a valid driver's license PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Will work in the kitchen, dining room, food warehouse, and outside areas that may be climate-controlled, hot, steamy, cold, damp, wet, slippery, freezing, humid, noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy.
