Purpose & Scope: The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrical and electronic repairs to machinery and support equipment throughout the Timken Bucyrus Bearing facility. Essential Responsibilities: * Plan, detail, and establish working procedures; specify and order necessary materials, tools, and equipment. * Apply thorough knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, material properties, and operating system principles. * Respond promptly to machine breakdown reports and general repair requests; determine root causes of problems through technical expertise and collaboration with personnel, adhering to safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures. * Develop repair strategies and resolve complex issues by collaborating with maintenance team members, vendor support, independent research, and operators. * Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance work as assigned by the team/group leader. * Read and interpret procedural manuals, blueprints, and diagrams (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic) to troubleshoot issues logically and effectively. * Dismantle, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, control panels, circuit breakers, and electronic devices; reassemble, test, and adjust equipment for safe operation. * Maintain required records and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unsafe conditions to the Supervisor or Manager. * Perform preventative and predictive maintenance. * Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment; follow prescribed safety, PPE, and environmental regulations as mandated by EHS. * Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and instructions for repairs, new installations, or inspections; perform evaluations to locate issues and make necessary wiring or program revisions. * Design and install conduit runs, determine wire quantities and sizes according to design and OSHA/NEC guidelines, and perform necessary mechanical tasks for supporting and hanging conduit. * Fabricate and assemble control panels, pushbutton stations, junction boxes, etc., for new installations and rebuilt equipment. * Inspect and clean switchgear and substations; repair electrical controls and valves on heat treat furnaces while adhering to mandatory safety specifications. * Execute minor metal fabrication, pipefitting, and welding duties as required. Educational/Technical/Functional Skills: * High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering preferred. * 2-3 years of hands-on electrician experience in a manufacturing facility. * Working knowledge of machinery and controls (e.g., Mills, Lathes, Heat Treat Furnaces, Grinders, Assembly Equipment). * In-depth knowledge of electronic and electrical equipment; familiarity with Modicon, Allen Bradley, and PLC-Direct PLCs preferred. * Proficient with electronic testing equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, meggers) and able to confirm calibrations. * Basic PC skills required; SAP experience preferred. * Strong ability to read blueprints/technical manuals and follow written procedures for troubleshooting. * Excellent teamwork and communication skills; attention to detail and service orientation are essential. Specific Physical Requirements: * Activities include frequent walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting (up to 35 pounds), pushing, and pulling. * Repetitive movements such as twisting, bending, gripping, and operation of hand tools are required. Unusual Environmental Conditions: * Exposure to a wide range of temperatures, loud noises, fumes, dust, and oil. * The heat treat area averages 70-95 degrees F; during summer months, temperatures can reach 100-105 degrees F. Humidity levels may vary. * Risks associated with open flames, quench oil exhaust fumes, and handling "red hot" parts and tools. Qualifications Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements: Candidates must have a high school diploma, vocational school certificate or GED. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain, inspect, and repair industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, lighting, and instrumentation Troubleshoot electrical issues involving PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors, and automated systems Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic diagrams, and technical manuals Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability Test electrical systems using appropriate tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, thermal cameras, etc.) Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety policies Lockout/tagout (LOTO) equipment prior to performing maintenance or repairs Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to resolve equipment issues Document work performed, parts used, and maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance logs Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new installations Respond to emergency electrical issues during production or off-hours as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations Participate in safety training and audits Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately Required Qualifications Journeyman or Master Electrician certification/license High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and safety standards Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience with PLCs Experience with VFDs, automation, and industrial control systems Electrical experience in manufacturing, utilities, or wastewater treatment facilities CMMS experience Arc flash training or certification Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and industrial environments Manual dexterity to work with tools, wiring, and small components Work Environment Industrial facility with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, heat, and electrical hazards May require shift work, overtime, weekends, or on-call availability Use of required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, arc flash gear, and hearing protection

The Maintenance Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility by performing electrical maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance measures. The Maintenance Electrician will be instrumental in maintaining production uptime and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Duties Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing electrical preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and electrical control systems. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and repair or replace defective components as needed Install new electrical systems and equipment according to specifications and safety standards. Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to address mechanical and electrical issues that may arise. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed. Assist with developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. DESCRIPTION SUMMARYUse hand, power and precision measuring tools to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels. • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.• Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous electrical function.• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic, pneumatic electrical control systems, and motor control circuitry. • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records• Install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.• Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers. • Define scope of work for new electrical installation projects as well as upgrade or refurbishment to existing system, build a bill of materials list, request job or parts quotes, work with third party contractors and/or vendors and submit written job requisitions.• Navigate the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to identify parts in inventory, submit requisitions, review work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations. • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies. • Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures. • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent (GED), or equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of journey-level electrical experience, OR completion of a four-year, accredited technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years of electrical experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved is also acceptable. CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: None. ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED • Know how to test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system. • Possess working knowledge of NFPA 79: Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, Ugly's Electrical Reference, NFPA 70 National Electrical Code.• Know relevant Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for proper electrical installation for industrial electrical installations.• Possess strong experience with 3-phase, 480V, and industrial troubleshooting.• Able to routinely use computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).• Know how to troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). • Able to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.• Know how to competently program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). • Able to safely and proficiently use shop tools (both hand and power). • Able to safely utilize a forklift and high lift. • Possess strong self-motivation and exemplary work ethic. • Able to be a self-directed individual but also take direction from plant leadership.• Possess strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. OTHER REQUIREMENTS No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with industrial electrician positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 15lbs may be required as needed. Some travel may be required in between plants. WORK ENVIRONMENT Some travel to other locations is required. Most work is performed in a comfortable, indoor, office-like facility. Some work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment. Some work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.
