THE OPPORTUNITY
The Area Maintenance Manager will lead a team of 25 - 35 maintenance personnel in an area of the facility. They will ensure the availability and durability of equipment in their sector while optimizing maintenance costs and energy in a continuous improvement approach. This should allow Operations to achieve the critical goals of Safety, Quality, Cost and Production.
This opportunity is in Lexington, SC. Located in Lexington County, we are proud to be an integral partner in one of the fastest growing communities in South Carolina. WHAT WILL YOU DO
Safety requirements are prioritized and ensured at all times (personnel and equipment)
The maintenance strategy is applied to equipment criticality
Maintenance plans are implemented, to include effective reaction to breakdowns and proactive work on machinery to improve control of the process (reliability).
Effectiveness of machine interventions is continuously optimized (The analysis of maintenance results is ensured and implementation of necessary actions to ensure continuous progress over short- and medium-term horizons)
Maintenance cost is optimized: operational efficiency, energy and spare parts consumption
The steps and tools of MMW (Michelin Manufacturing Way) are mastered to drive reliability progress
The reliability of equipment is ensured, in particular by dealing with obsolescence cases
Resources are adapted (competency and quantity), training and succession plans are created and carried out
WHAT WILL YOU BRING
Minimum 5+ years prior maintenance management experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred
Proven leadership of teams, with examples of facilitating progress
Technical degree is a plus but equivalent experience is considered
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment
Proven record of development of people through coaching, mentoring, and establishment of development plans
Prior experience working in a union environment is a plus

WHAT WILL YOU DO
* Provide leadership, support, and direction to empower wage production operators to achieve their common objectives.
* Work effectively with maintenance, quality, and other cross functional teams to meet daily/annual performance goals and continuous improvement/progress efforts.
* Monitor the short and long-term needs of the facility to ensure succession needs are met and employees are afforded opportunities for development and career growth.
* Facilitate the identification and implementation of process and team improvements.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING
* A willingness to work in an industrial plant environment (Monday-Friday on day shift).
* The ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
* Success in working with other people or team to meet a common objective.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software systems.
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
* Currently enrolled full time at an accredited four-year college or university.
