Conducts comprehensive cost reduction studies by evaluating and analyzing the design of specified parts to determine the most economical methods and procedures for manufacture and designs the appropriate tools and equipment, such as gages and jigs, process equipment. Plans, designs, supervises, and coordinates tooling/machine modifications with all related departments. Plans and reviews engineering documents used for preparation of production documents. Plans, coordinates, and implements new product and revised product introductions and carries project through all phases of the process. Interfaces with outside suppliers to develop cost reduction projects/activities. Works with test parts in existing processes for machine and product quality capabilities and relays this information to supplier. Performs technical and specialized training for associates from various departments. Participates in the development of annual and long-term budget plans, including machine utilization studies. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related technical field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Minimum 6 years of engineering experience required. Minimum 2 years of experience as a supervisor or manager required.
