About the Role: The Chief Estimator is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the Estimating team for various electrical construction projects. This includes administering operating budgets, staffing, work assignments, salary and performance reviews. The Chief Estimator will also support and administer all department standards and procedures as well as be responsible for the final review and approvals of estimate packages. The Chief Estimator will coordinate with the Operations Manager and Division Manager for the selection of projects to pursue. As a key member of our team, the Senior Estimator will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work and estimate costs Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that estimates are accurate and complete Communicate regularly with other team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of estimates Develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, with experience in a construction setting preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, in Eight, or Bid2Win
