. Team Support DMNC - Blow Washer, Dept. 301 Core Hours: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM This position is responsible for ensuring that the department has all of the materials necessary to run production. This includes taking an inventory of the necessary materials, tools and equipment and ensuring that they are available in accordance with production schedules. Initiates and supports changeovers and relieves Associates on the line when required.
Responsibilities:
* Verifies proper work procedures are being followed.
* Supplies all materials necessary for production using the Kanban system.
* Replaces Associates on the line when required.
* Performs changeovers and ensures that workstations have the proper parts, work instructions and supplies necessary to meet daily requirements.
* Monitors line activity and production output to ensure that the line is running in accordance to the daily plan. Any equipment problems, manpower concerns or abnormal conditions in product must be communicated to the Team Leader.
* Responsible for basic troubleshooting, repair of production equipment and fabrication of process support materials.
* Acts as a mentor and trains new Associates to all quality and production requirements. Retrains current Associates on any process changes.
* Ensures Associates are operating in a safe manner.
* Ensures compliance with all IATF-16949 requirements. Performs layered process audits.
* Reviews tie-in sheets with the following shift.
* Continuously looks for opportunities for improvement and participates in Kaizen and EF activities. · Supports other members of the department as necessary and works to improve 5S conditions.
* Supports required TPM activities.
* Performs rework, as necessary.
* May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Quality / Environmental Roles and Responsibilities:
* Follows all procedures and work instructions and make recommendations to improve the process. Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances.
* Records all non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken and assist in the problem solving process.
* Communicates and practices DMNC's Quality and Environmental Management Systems. Takes an active role in achieving and maintaining IATF-16949 and ISO-14001.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Required:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Some vocational training or equivalent experience required for minor machine repairs.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
* Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and basic measuring devices.
* Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
* Basic fabricating skills and operation of hand tools
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing environment. Automated machinery. Safety glasses and shoes required. Position requires standing, walking and may be required to move, lift or carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
