Medical physics was established as a specialty focus within the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, creating the first and only basic science Department of Medical Physics of its kind in the country. Faculty within the department have a scholarly focus on discoveries and inventions in imaging and therapy systems, that lead to scientific translation into clinical trials or to industrial translation to create products through collaboration or via new venture entrepreneurship. Medical physics is led by 30 core faculty with 45 affiliate and 14 emeritus faculty members, with many having joint appointments in clinical departments such as Radiology and Human (Radiation) Oncology.
Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $60,000 annually but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Comments (Level Descriptions):
The Applications Support Specialist job family has four levels:
Application Specialist I
This is the proficiency level where incumbents provide basic support for their assigned area. Incumbents are knowledgeable in common desktop applications and help their customers use those tools to their best advantage. They are able to assist in designing complex spreadsheet applications with macros and/or internal database references. Incumbents may also be the internal resource on a specific application for the area with responsibility for maintaining databases, updating tables, and generating standard and common reports using system report-writer capabilities. This may be a career level in a small school, college, or department where information needs are very basic. In other cases, incumbents may be increasing their knowledge of specialized applications and data analysis in preparation for qualification at the next level of this family.
Application Specialist II
This is the career level where incumbents work independently on various assignments and projects to support customers in their assigned area. Incumbents have expertise in desktop software for analysis and reporting (e.g. spreadsheet and/or database applications) and are able to use those tools to design specialized applications for their customers. They are able to provide first-tier support and training for their assigned area with outside technical assistance required for only the most complex and unusual situations. Incumbents are also knowledgeable in one or more specialized applications used in their assigned area (e.g. databases, interfaces) and are the key resource in the area on technical issues, report generation, and analytical data. They are often the person responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of complex databases used by their customers and are able to design specialized reports or downloads of data for analysis.
Application Specialist - Senior
This is the specialist level where incumbents provide highly specialized support for complex and specialized applications used by their assigned customers. Incumbents collect information from a variety of sources including their assigned system, centralized applications, and the internet, and organize that information into reports for review by administrators or customers. They are also a key resource for their area in determining IT needs for the future and provide detailed information on applications and/or software under consideration. Incumbents at this level may also serve as a part-time system administrator for their area's LAN, answering inquiries, resolving problems, and providing technical and functional assistance for their customers. Incumbents at this level often provide work direction for a small group (less than 5) of technical staff which may include outside contractors and/or students.
Application Specialist - Lead
This is the leadership level where incumbents are responsible for providing functional direction and leadership for a small group (less than 5) of technical staff including technicians, support, and students. Incumbents are responsible for identifying and ensuring that the appropriate IT services are provided for their area including reviewing products, meeting with vendors, and making recommendations to customer management. They are responsible for monitoring and allocating established budgets for computer equipment and software. Additionally, incumbents have extensive knowledge in specialized systems for their area and are able to create programs and modify applications as necessary to meet business needs. They are the key resource for centralized IT staff in conversions and implementation of new University-wide systems and often provide project leadership for these projects for their assigned area.

Reporting to the Center for Urban Studies' Directors, the Program Coordinators will provide operational support primarily for two AmeriCorps initiatives [ACT (AmeriCorps Community Training) for overdose rescue and READY (Recreation, Education, Awareness, Demonstration, and Youth)], as well as for several related projects.
The Research Assistants will also assist in managing AmeriCorps members and lead STOP programs, in-person, as outlined briefly below. STOP currently offers two main services:
Assist in ensuring that AmeriCorps initiatives meet grant all output requirements (tracking/monitoring program outputs and performance measures, drafting project updates and reports, completing required trainings and certifications, preparing documentation for program files, etc.).
Assist in grant management activities, including programmatic and financial reports in eGrants and OnCorps.
Become fully knowledgeable about national AmeriCorps requirements, policies, and procedures; and diligently adhere to AmeriCorps guidelines in all aspects of program operations.
Assist in completing routinized activities and procedures for AmeriCorps:
+ Recruit new AmeriCorps service members and meet quarterly enrollment targets (update position postings, proactively identify networks and pathways for promoting the position, circulate recruitment information to key contacts, review applications, conduct interviews, etc.).
+ Complete enrollment, exit, or other status changes (gathering and organizing required documents, conducting criminal history checks, preparing payroll forms, entering member data into WSU and AmeriCorp/OnCorps systems, etc.).
+ Verify member service hours biweekly, ensuring documentation needed to demonstrate that approved hours are compliant with AmeriCorps and program rules, and providing final approval of these efforts.
+ Verify that all member records are accurate, complete, and compliant with funder guidelines; maintain file checklists and complete regular file audits to ensure member records are up to date.
Assist in coordinating and carrying out training for new AmeriCorps members and part-time research technicians.

Qualifications:

University Health and Counseling (UHC) provides comprehensive, public-health informed preventative and clinical services (counseling?individual, group, relationships; 14 different medical services and specialties, nursing, pharmacy, diagnostic services), mental health promotion, education, training, outreach, and postvention to the U-M campus community (students, faculty, staff, retirees and guests). An actively merging unit of two accredited departments?University Health Service (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care/AAAHC) and Counseling & Psychological Services (International Association of Counseling Services/IACS)?with >220 staff and trainees, UHC provides coordinated, integrated care within the same electronic health record (Epic?/MiChart) as Michigan Medicine (MM), where many community members also receive emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care (e.g., MM emergency departments, inpatient services, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, and specialist ambulatory care). UHC operates in two primary locations (Michigan Union, 530 S. State St.; University Health Service, 207 Fletcher St.) as well as in embedded counselor offices in 18 schools/colleges across central and north campus. UHC is a unit of U-M Student Life (SL) and reports to the SL Associate Vice President for Health & Wellbeing and up to the Vice President of Student Life, who is a U-M Executive Officer (EO).
Position Summary:
CAPS is seeking applicants for adjunct counseling positions that would be located either in our Central office or at specific schools/colleges on our campus. This is a 6-month temporary, part-time or full-time appointment. Starting date and hours are negotiable.

* Collaborate with the CHHS advising team and Marketing Specialist to regularly update students on newly discovered financial aid opportunities, creating materials or presentations as needed to assist students in navigating the application process.
Minimum Qualifications:

Job Summary
This is a full-time summer position that extends part-time into fall with Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum and the Campus Farm at MBGNA in collaboration with Indigenous community partners. This position will work with Campus Farm staff, MBGNA curatorial staff, and Indigenous community partners. The internship includes preparation, planting, and care of the Indigenous Collaborative Garden (ICG) located at Matthaei Botanical Gardens along with other possible sites under Indigenous community partner leadership and guidance. Additionally, the position will work and engage more broadly with the development and implementation of Indigenous foodways efforts at MBGNA/U-M in collaboration with Indigenous partners and the Native American Student Association. The balance of the position's time will be spent as part of the Campus Farm team growing food for students, by students for use at Farmstand, Maize and Blue Cupboard, Campus Dining and beyond. In addition to full-time summer employment, the position continues part-time through the end of the 2026 growing season and the harvest feast during the fall semester. Potential to start the position part time in late-March 2026 also exists to engage in planning work for interested candidates.
The position is primarily Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (Monday, May 4 to Friday, August 28, 2026) with some weekends and evenings required. Must include some availability part time through the fall semester 2026.
