**Job Summary and Qualifications**
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:
+ You will be responsible for receiving blood specimens, performing blood tests, and studying the morphology of the components of blood.
+ You will perform various routine or special clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections of the Laboratory using automated equipment, manual testing, and microscopic analysis to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
+ You will be responsible for maintaining and using various equipment in the Laboratory including automated, chemistry analyzers, ion-specific electrodes, osmometers, and other analyzers.
+ You will perform antibody screening, antibody identification, and cross-matching procedures required in the administration of blood/blood components and identify antibodies in donors or patient's blood that could react adversely during transfusion.
+ You will notify nursing units and/or physicians of critical lab values.
+ You will implement new testing methods, products, and instrumentation as appropriate to keep department current with technology.
Qualifications:
+ Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program (Associate's degree acceptable) and/or a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology with appropriate certification (may be hired prior to graduation upon completion of required course work for graduation).
+ Nationally recognized certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS or MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
+ This licensure must be completed within 1 year of hire.
+ One year of experience working in a hospital or other clinical laboratory setting is preferred; new graduates will be considered.
+ American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

Overview

The Research Technician will ensure the Research Station, functions efficiently by performing a variety of duties to maintain and operate the facilities, equipment and farmland. Supports the Station Manager and other scientists on station with scheduling and resourcing research activities and ensuring efficient, functional execution of research activities. Support off-station field plot location growing activities. Primary crops under development include camelina and other oilseeds crops for the renewables energy markets and dietary supplement for livestock feeding markets.
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture preferred, or up to 5 years of related ag production or field research experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Idaho Private Applicator License (within 3 months of hire).

SHIFT: Monday - Friday 6AM - 2PM, overtime as needed.

ROLE SUMMARY:
As a malt lab analyst, you will conduct quality analysis, record keeping, and reporting of malted barley production and shipments in and out of Busch Agricultural facilities. Test and evaluate new processes/equipment. Communicate, both written and verbal, with internal and external customer. Training of employees may be required. Self-starter is a must. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, Data Management, and SOP evaluation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for following all Plant Policies, Safety Policies and Procedures (Risk Assessments, Peer on Peer Observations, Lock Out Tag Out, Hot Work Permits, Required PPE, Confined Space Permits, etc.).
High standard of personal and team performance. Possess the ability to work without direct supervision, a self-directed work ethic.
Communicate job knowledge and process changes with team members, department crew and management thru various forms of daily communication (daily production meetings, email, shift handover meeting, action logs, work orders, etc.).
Excellent use of PC skills such as MS office, excel, word, email, SAP, and Wonderware to monitor and control daily operations using plant process control systems.
Actively participate in facility management Voyager Plant Optimization Program, Improvement Task Force/Committee participation, Safety and Quality Programs and Personal Development Plans.
Perform sanitation job requirements in accordance with company policies.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Operation of a variety of lab equipment associated with day-to-day quality analysis of malted barley
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required. 4-year degree preferred
Demonstrates strong commitment to achieving company goals by focusing on Safety, Quality and Productivity thru Plant Excellence Program for continued improvements and standardization of jobs.
Possess excellent PC skills such as MS office, excel, word, email, SAP and Wonderware to monitor and control daily operations using plant process control systems.
Ability to perform and meet the physical demands of the position including but not limited to lifting 75 pounds and working in dusty and wet environments with proper PPE.
Understanding of process equipment, process control, troubleshooting and repair of basic mechanical problems.
Effectively shares job knowledge and process changes with team members, department crew and management thru various forms of daily communication (daily production meeting, email, shift handover meetings, action logs, work orders, etc.).
Lab experience is preferred.

Job Summary:
Perform analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmentals. The position performs the application and evaluation of approved microbiological techniques and methodologies.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Accurately perform and read test results and notify Laboratory Management of deviations
* Prepare and analyze samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries
* Apply aseptic/microbiological techniques in daily workload
* Report inventory and expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements
* Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, trash disposal, and equipment quality control
* Assist in quality duties to by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.
* Pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures, or techniques in accordance with FSNS policies/procedures and customer requirements
* Maintain a high degree of technical competence by reading scientific journals, attending professional workshops, and being aware of food industry issues and trends
* Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner
* Share information in an open and timely manner
* Assisting with managing priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved with encouraged participation in the Food Safety Net Services Team
* Responsible for the safety of oneself and others working within their area
Supervision:
* This job does has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience:
* Associate degree in Life Science or related field with two or more years of laboratory experience, preferred
* Two or more years of experience in a commercial food-testing or analytical laboratory
* Or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Working knowledge of aseptic sampling technique, automated lab equipment, and acceptable methods and procedures
* Familiarity with GLP, OSHA guidelines, FDA, BAM, APHA, ISO, and USP methods and procedures
* Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory
* Ability to travel when necessary
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
* Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
* Noise level varies from quiet to loud
