    Conduct NDT inspections of structures, pipelines or other components and materials using Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Radiography (CR). Level II certification in UTT, MT and PT also required. Essential Functions and Basic Duties Conduct non-destructive (NDT) testing of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, equipment utilization, specifications, and procedures. Utilize appropriate NDT method to perform NDT inspections, including RT, CR/DR, UTT, MT and PT. Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing of products or materials. Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing technique. Complete documentation and work orders thoroughly following established protocols and meeting required timeframes. Drive Company vehicles and maintain safe driving record. Provide instruction to assigned assistants and ensure safety of entire team. Other Functions Perform general cleaning and minor maintenance duties to maintain company vehicles, routinely inspect equipment and maintain shop areas in a clean, orderly and functional condition. The Sigma Complex is a unique prototyping and fabrication facility that specializes in providing material, components, and manufacturing science to the Los Alamos experimental programs. As part of this mission, Sigma Division works with a broad range of materials that spans metal alloy, ceramic, and composite materials containing elements from hydrogen to beryllium to uranium, with a strong emphasis on unconventional materials.** **The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative team environment, interfacing routinely with other Sigma Division staff as well as deployed personnel (Industrial Hygiene, Health Physics, Shipping, Facility Operations) to complete program objectives. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out administrative and organizational tasks, which include ordering and upkeep of standard laboratory reagents. The role will also include molecular cloning, cell culture, and protein isolation from either prokaryotic or eukaryotic sources. Proficiency in the following techniques will be considered assets: PCR, DNA cloning, immunoblotting, protein purification, microbiology, microscopy and cell culture.
