Nucoat North America, LLC is seeking a strategic and hands-on Color Match Lab Manager to lead our color formulation, quality assurance, and sample development operations. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily lab activities, guide the color matching team, and ensure that all products meet or exceed quality expectations for the window and door coatings market. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, drive process improvements, and uphold Nucoat's commitment to precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and develop color lab personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
Coordinate daily workflows to meet production, R&D, and customer-driven priorities.
Maintain a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence within the lab.
Color Formulation & Technical Oversight
Direct the development of accurate, repeatable color formulas for customers and production operations.
Review and approve batch formulas, sample matches, and adjustments completed by lab staff.
Lead complex color-matching projects and mentor team members on advanced techniques.
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
Establish, refine, and maintain color-matching procedures, documentation, and lab protocols.
Analyze results, validate outcomes, and ensure alignment with specifications and customer expectations.
Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
Technology & Equipment Management
Oversee the use of color match software and automated tinting systems to ensure optimal performance.
Manage conversion of manual formulas into automated platforms and maintain formula databases.
Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and in good working order.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Support
Partner with production, sales, quality, and customer service teams to resolve color-related issues quickly and effectively.
Provide technical support to customer service and engage directly with customers when needed.
Present results, participate in evaluations, and offer informed recommendations in both formal and informal settings.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education preferred.
Prior experience in a coatings lab or color-matching environment required.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a lab or production setting.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Head Compounding Pharmacist, the Compounding Lab Manager will be responsible for daily operations within the compounding labs in the pharmacy. You will support the scale-up of growing compounding capabilities, as well as acting as a stakeholder in the development of new compounded treatments. As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will supervise laboratory operations and be responsible for all employment-related activities, budgets, fiscal performance and quality assurance.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Be responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory, day to-day laboratory operation, personnel performing testing and reporting test results.
* Participate in selecting test methodology appropriate for the clinical use of the test results.
* Participate in verifying test procedures performed and establishing laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system
* Ensure enrollment and participation in an HHS approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered.
* Establish a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed, establish the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results.
* Resolve technical and operational problems and ensure that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
* Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly.
* Identify training needs and ensure that every performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed.
* Evaluate the competency of all testing personnel and assure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently.
* Ensure the competency of testing personnel in areas of responsibility i.e. moderately complexity and/or high complexity testing.
* Ensure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently.
* Evaluate and document competency assessment of testing personnel in laboratory area of responsibility at least semiannually during the first year the testing personnel tests patient specimens and annually thereafter.
* Evaluate testing personnel competency through:
* Directing observations of routine patient test performance, including patient preparation, if applicable, specimen handling, processing and testing.
* Monitoring the recording and reporting of test results.
* Reviewing intermediate test results or worksheets, quality control records, proficiency testing results, and preventive maintenance records.
* Direct observation of performance of instrument maintenance and function checks.
* Assessment of test performance through testing previously analyzed specimens, internal blind testing samples or external proficiency testing samples.
* Assessment of problem-solving skills.
* Supervise staff and handle staffing, hiring, orientation, scheduling, evaluating and developing staff including continuing education initiatives.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from a four-year college or university OR education and training equivalent to meet ASCP board of certification qualification
* Five years of clinical laboratory training and/or experience in high complexity testing. This may include a medical technology internship, full-time experience performing non-waived testing or part-time experience performing non-waived testing with 2080 hours equivalent to one year
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Two years of clinical laboratory management or supervisory experience.
* For clinical pathology: MT (ASCP) or ASCP eligible

Supervises Lab department including personnel and workflow.
Ensures timely delivery of all pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic services by vigilant monitoring of pending orders (LIS, HIS, Pending reports).
Performs duties of TA/Medical Technologist, including processing, and specimen testing as workflow dictates.
Serves as primary contact for all new employees to coordinate training in areas of the lab that fit the needs of the department.
Responsible for creating new hire training packet, getting department specific training assigned to employees, and following up with employee to make sure all training is completed and signed off before employee is working solo.
Ensures proper communication of lab support functions with all lab associates.
Actively participates in staff department meetings, including daily shift huddles.
Conducts Lab Support meetings in support of Lab Administration team when indicated.
Assists Lab Director/Manager with Performance Improvement activities.
Consults with both internal and external customers to assess needs and to ensure patient safety goals are met. Recommends and implements changes to work processes in coordination with technical staff.
Assists Lab Administration with CAP regulations, including but not limited to, policy/procedure review and compliance, adherence to employee safety regulations and employee file maintenance.
Participates in interviews and provides recommendations of hiring of associates.
Conducts on-going assessment of TA, and medical technologist performance.
Assists/conducts on-going assessments, annual performance evaluations and corrective action as indicated.
Provides management support of Lab department by overseeing PTO requests, scheduling, time/attendance reporting, timecards, and inventory monitoring.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Required: Associate degree in a clinical laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology
Preferred: A bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology
MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) certification
Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience
