Job Description
Microchip is hiring Production Specialists at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon!
We are invested in our employees, and our award-winning training organization will provide you all the tools, resources and support you need to be successful.
Don't worry if you don't have cleanroom experience. Most new employees don't!
What is a cleanroom?
A cleanroom is the controlled environment where we manufacture microcontrollers. External pollutants or particles such as dust are cycled through HEPA filters constantly in accordance with cleanroom specifications. Temperature and humidity are carefully controlled and constant.
What is a bunny suit?
Production Specialists wear a "bunny suit" that covers them from head to foot and includes a suit, hood, boot covers, gloves, face covering for your nose and mouth and safety glasses. A bunny suit is made from a lightweight, polyester material that you wear over your normal clothes - Jeans, shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes.
What will you be doing?
* You will learn to operate the machines (or "tools") that manufacture microcontrollers and other embedded control products
* You will learn to qualify tools and run engineering experiments to ensure that equipment and processes are within documented specified limits
* Communicate to the appropriate people when equipment and processes do not meet documented specified limits
* Learn the essential protocol for the cleanroom
* Work 12-hour shifts, alternating between 3 shifts per week and 4 shifts per week
* Develop the knowledge and expertise to help your functional area team meet production goals

Compensation
* There are three components to compensation: base rate of pay, shift differential, and daily overtime
* Day Shift Pay: Base hourly pay $18.75 + 5% differential = $19.68 per hour (with built in OT = $21.15)
* Night Shift Pay: Base hourly pay $18.75 + 18% differential = $22.12 per hour (with built in OT = $23.77)

Job Description:
Microchip has an opportunity for a Manager-Supply Management in the Supplier Operations department at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This position will supervise a team of Supply Chain Buyers who manage suppliers and the flow of materials and services into Microchip Technology Fabs.
Essential Functions
* Manage Supply Management staff, including day to day job duties/performance, team building, employee development, training, and mentoring.
* Assist North American supply management department in addition to managing direct reports.
* Sourcing and contract negotiations with suppliers.
* Coordinate procurement activities with production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions.
* Serve as a point of contact responding to escalations of Fab supply issues proposing timely and effective solutions to supply shortages and problem areas.

Overview:

Summary:
Optimize the performance of tools and equipment for semiconductor wafer production within a cleanroom environment. Cultivate strong internal relationships and provide excellent customer service and support in a timely manner. Duties:
Solid understanding of theoretical knowledge of electronic, mechanical, robotics/wafer handling, pneumatic, vacuum, chemical, and gas delivery systems related to semiconductor manufacturing and any other subsystem relevant to technical area
