Job Description:
We are looking for a ProductionSpecialist to join our Assembly/Test team in Lowell, MA! The ProductionSpecialist will perform a number of complex electro-mechanical assembly tasks in the production of semiconductor devices by following written specifications and performing multiple operations.
Responsibilities:
* Performs a number of complex electro-mechanical assembly tasks
* Component board population, both through-hole and surface mount.
* Assemble modules and subassemblies using approved soldering, wiring/ cabling, connector installation, and bonding
* Top level system integration of PCBAs, modules, subassemblies, components and housings.
* De-soldering and rework of failed components on PCBAs, modules, and subassemblies.
* Chemical cleaning of PCBAs, metals, housings, mechanical parts.
* UV curing of epoxies and conformal coatings.
* Masking and conformal coating of boards.
* Perform rework and repairs of materials to IPC standards.
* Performs tasks associated with use of process ovens for curing and cleaning of parts.
* Hand-soldering of advanced PCBAs
* May assist in the training of less experienced technicians
* Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly working area.
* Adhere to all production schedules and established procedures.
* Recording of all defects in the quality database and Product Life Management system

Position Summary:
The Electromechanical Technician (experienced) role is a great opportunity for individuals with professional experience in electromechanical, precision automation, and/or other advanced technical fields. A successful candidate will assemble, test, and troubleshoot precision motion systems to an extremely high degree of accuracy. A high personal standard of quality is critical to this role.
What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you could have the opportunity to:
Assemble high performance electromechanical systems in accordance with assembly documentation.
Prepare and install precision parts such as: linear and rotary bearings, optical encoders, and various drive mechanisms.
Measure/inspect parts to confirm tolerances
Troubleshoot to determine the cause and solution to malfunctioning products
Perform modifications and repairs of mechanical assemblies
Recognize and use inspection equipment such as scales, calipers, micrometers, electronic indicators, etc.
Use software to access engineering, quality, instructional, and other job related documentation.
Additional Duties:
General Labor such as department maintenance and clean room support
Employee may be asked to train others in the department
As assigned
What will separate you from the rest? Experience with:
Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
Precision measurement/part inspection experience (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
Blueprint/Drawing experience
Experience with robotics/precision automation (preferred)
Soldering skills, including familiarity with IPC-610 / IPC-620 soldering standards
Effective computer literacy and use of software, such as an ERP system
Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Qualified candidates must have a mechanical aptitude
Excellent computer skills
Must be authorized to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship.

The Electromechanical Production Technician is an entry-level production position that includes roles in various departments including Motors, Core Mechatronics, Electrical Assembly, Wiring and more. This on-the-job training role will align your strengths with a career path customized to your strengths and interests. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or transition to a hands-on technical career.
What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you could have the opportunity to:
Experience many different aspects of precision automation manufacturing while training on-the-job alongside experienced motor assembly, electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical technicians
Participate in a structured career development program intended to provide the skills necessary to become an expert in the precision manufacturing industry
Read wiring and assembly drawings to determine product requirements
Assemble cables and cable harnesses using hand tools, power tools, and soldering
Route and attach wires to circuit boards, connectors, inline splices, and/or subassemblies using solder, crimp, and IDC termination methods
Assemble and test complex, high precision mechanical and electrical components using a variety of proprietary testing and measurement equipment and software
Assemble/Wire/Test precision motion systems
Operate additive manufacturing (3D printing) equipment in the production of Aerotech parts
Troubleshoot to determine the cause of malfunctioning products, work with peers and supervisors to find a solution, then perform modification and repair when necessary
Grow into more advanced roles throughout the organization as you develop skills and experience
