As a Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) Engineer for Micron Technology, Inc., you will work with a team responsible for taking next generation HBM devices from design to mass production! We focus on failure analysis of test, internal qualification, and RMA failures, allowing for enhanced product reliability, rapid production ramp and early time to market. Our primary areas of responsibility apply fault isolation with a combination of electrical and physical characterization techniques combined with data analysis to identify physical defects introduced by process level or assembly step. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of HBM technology, testing methodology, assembly technology and fabrication process. Additionally, you will be responsible for presenting and coordinating failure analysis findings with Management, Product, Process, Assembly, and Global Quality teams!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Perform Electrical Failure Analysis and Fault Isolation using methods such as emission, laser techniques, and EOTPR
* Characterize or model backend test, internal qualification, and RMA fail signatures
* Understand various PFA and de-processing techniques for failures
* In depth understanding of CMOS/FinFET process fabrication levels, steps, and methodologies
* Generate organized and timely failure analysis reports with clearly communicated causes and effects
Qualifications
* Bachelor's in electrical engineering computer engineering, Physics, or Chemistry
* 2 to 5 years of demonstrated semiconductor experience in Yield and fault analysis
* Computer aided layout and schematic experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of semiconductor device physics including VLSI design
* Scripting within a UNIX/Linux environment (Tcl, Bash, SHELL, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters in EE or Material Science
* Experience performing Fault Isolation and Failure Analysis
* Extensive understanding of Physical and logical design
* Understanding of Package Assembly and Fabrication Process
* Experience in reliability and quality analysis

**Job Description**
Provide technical leadership and hands-on metrology support for magnetic recording wafer process development, with a focus on overlay, AFM, and CDSEM measurements for critical dimension (CD), profile, and topography characterization.
Partner closely with magnetic recording head process R&D engineers to define, develop, and deploy advanced metrology solutions, including new measurement methodologies and algorithms. Lead metrology strategy for development programs while ensuring robust day-to-day measurement execution across multiple projects.
Serve as a core technical contributor within the R&D metrology organization, driving best practices and knowledge transfer while working in close alignment with the manufacturing metrology team to ensure consistency from development through production.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
+ Required experience: 5 or more years of relevant metrology experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2-3 or more years of relevant metrology experience with a Master's or Ph.D. degree.
+ Deep technical expertise in at least one metrology domain (AFM, CDSEM, or overlay), with working knowledge across all three areas required.
+ Proven experience supporting and leading metrology efforts for R&D and/or manufacturing in a high-technology environment.
+ Strong data analysis skills using industry-standard tools; experience with programming or scripting languages is a plus.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence across multidisciplinary engineering teams; proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

As an **Equipment Engineer** you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing **Pump/Abatement/Chiller equipment** to improve product quality, driving yield improvements, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be required to identify, diagnose and resolve equipment related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. Coordinating and carrying out equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost optimization activities, handling new equipment qualifications and managing, auditing and collaborating with equipment suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk mitigation objectives.
The **Equipment Engineer** role is responsible for supervising the health of their assigned equipment, ensuring high-quality output, and providing proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks that could impact Fab cycle time (CT) or turns.
**Skill Sought Out For This Role:**
+ Hands on experience with Pump/Abatement/Chiller equipment
+ Strong process area equipment knowledge
+ DRAM development and manufacturing experience
+ Proven Automation skills through previous automation projects requiring coding/machine learning/JMP Scripting
+ Strong ability to perform functions of this role described above with minimal direction/guidance

+ Mature understanding of the process flow related to area equipment and SPC principles

+ Demonstrate ability to resolve sophisticated problems, project management, resolve equipment issues, and develop procedures or actions plans when one isn't in place
+ Strong understanding of physics, area chemistry, and semiconductor equipment concepts as well as analytical problem-solving skills
+ Mature time management, organization, and prioritization skills
**Minimum Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, equivalent military experience or AAS with 1+yr industry experience
+ 1+ years of experience in Pump/Abatement/Chiller Equipment Development for semiconductor products

+ Use project management skills to complete project milestones that close hardware gaps around equipment deficiencies

**Minimum Required Qualifications:**
+ 2+ years of industry experience working as Equipment Owner with Photolithography Equipment
+ BS or Masters in the Engineering field, equivalent military experience or AAS with 5+yr industry experience
+ Willingness to travel internationally for onboarding and training purposes
