PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
CLINIC OPERATIONS:
Manages the operations of the clinic, including costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards.

The Physician Assistant/NP provides comprehensive care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon. This includes performing assessments, diagnosing injuries, assisting in surgical and non-surgical procedures, managing post-operative care, and providing patient education and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care:
Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations, including patient histories and physical examinations.
Order, interpret, and review diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests.
Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic orthopedic conditions.
Perform joint injections, aspirations, casting, splinting, and wound care.
Provide pre- and post-operative patient management and education.
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
Surgical Assistance:
Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room (e.g., positioning, suturing, tissue handling).
Prepare surgical instruments, implants, and equipment.
Perform first assist duties during orthopedic procedures.
Administrative and Coordination Duties:
Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Participate in rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Education: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licensure: Current state PA license; NCCPA certification required.
Experience:
Minimum [1-3] years of orthopedic or surgical experience preferred.
New graduates with orthopedic rotations will be considered.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; ATLS preferred.
