Communicates with physicians and nurses regarding emergency arrivals and direct admissions. Decision will be based on bed availability treatment plan and admission criteria. Initiates and maintains communication throughout the day with Emergency Department Operating Room and specialty areas. Attends daily care coordination rounds; strategizes and recommends anticipated placement of patient to appropriate unit as placement is necessary. Collaborates with Environmental Services (EVS) and Nursing Supervisors to maintain an accurate assessment of available rooms for patients. Escalates any barriers to efficient patient throughput to the nursing supervisor and/or Director in a timely manner. As needed conducts clinical assessments of patients for appropriate bed placement based on level of care. Executes independent clinical judgement to ensure safe patient placement and bed assignments. Participates in QI initiatives related to patient throughput and hospital capacity management. Minimal Qualifications Education Associate's degree in Nursing required Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in Maryland required CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to read write and speak or communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position. Ability to demonstrate ethical behavior that supports the hospital's mission values and commitment to compliance with all federal state and regulatory laws. Inspires trust and exhibits honesty and integrity within the scope of daily activities. Exhibits professionalism courtesy and excellent customer service while interacting with patients guests and co-workers. Knowledge in infection control measures for various types of isolation practices. Accepts responsibility and accountability for maintaining continuous patient flow. Ability to conduct clinical assessments of patients This position has a hiring range of : USD $37.50 - USD $54.92 /Hr.
