    The Director of Operations Retina Service plans, evaluates, leads and directs all day to day activities and operations of Mid Atlantic Retina's Wills Eye Hospital location. They are responsible for assisting MAR fellows with training and scheduling as well as directing the duties, priorities, and necessities of various routines to be carried out on a daily basis by all MAR employees in order to ensure efficient flow of patients and day-to-day operations. Essential Functions * Assists in the development and enforcement of clinical and administrative policies, procedures and safety protocols as they relate to the Wills Eye Hospital location. * Acts as a liaison between doctors and managers to support operations. * Plans and participates in annual fellowship interview weekend. * Conducts weekly meetings with fellows to establish and maintain schedules for surgery and clinic. * Reviews and corrects new fellow clinical charts. Provides feedback for improvement. * Provides training for fellows to ensure proper billing and coding procedures. * Reviews monthly billing goals for Retina Service to ensure fellows are appropriately billing and coding. * Meets on a regular basis with the Director of Fellowship Program to ensure that all program goals are being met. * Oversees and participates in the hiring, training and management of Mid Atlantic Retina's Wills Eye location managers and personnel. * Manages the Physician of Session schedules and points tracking for yearly calculations of Retina Service. * Reviews and facilitates decisions regarding patients unable to meet financial responsibilities. * Maintains open communication with Wills Eye Administration in order to manage shared patients. * Builds and maintains relationships with Wills Eye Hospital staff in order to manage billing reconciliation between MAR and Wills Eye. * Monitors and reports hours that MAR Physicians oversee Jefferson university students. * Collaborates with Wills Eye staff and sub-contractors to facilitate building and suite maintenance, repairs and upgrades. * Responsible for the purchasing and scheduling of repairs for all clinical equipment throughout the practice. Ensures the maintained in adequate working order. * Maintains and supports patient satisfaction by addressing concerns and enacting policy and procedural changes as needed. * Interacts regularly with the Medical education office to discuss special events and educational programs. * Standing member of MAR Committees and participates in ad hoc committees as needed. * Remains current with emerging technology. * Travels as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned. Work Environment This job operates in a clinical and professional office environment. This role routinely uses both standard office equipment as well as clinical equipment. Standard office equipment examples would include (but not be limited by) computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. Clinical equipment would include any diagnostic equipment found in a retina clinic and surgical setting and operating room.
