Midas Hospitality is seeking a dynamic Front Desk Agent to join our team at the TownePlace Suites located in Streetsboro. This position will be responsible for arriving, departing and in-house guests as well as telephone inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests. Issues room key and gives directions.
* Sorts incoming mail and faxes for guests.
* Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions.
* Keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts.
* Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
* Makes, confirms, and cancels reservations.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience as a Front Desk Agent is preferred
* Experience in a customer service industry is required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Front Desk Operations:
Perform guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently and accurately.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest inquiries, requests, and concerns.
Manage reservations and ensure all guest information is accurate in the system.
Assist with guest needs, including wake-up calls, room changes, and additional amenities.

Night Audit Functions:
Conduct a detailed audit of financial transactions, including guest folios, cash handling, and credit card charges.
Reconcile daily revenue, verify postings, and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and distribute reports such as the Night Audit Report, Revenue Report, and Occupancy Report for hotel management.
Close the day's financial activities and generate the Daily Flash Report.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures across all operating departments.
Accounting and Financial Controls:
Maintain financial records, including guest ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Process and review invoices for accuracy before forwarding them to accounting.
Assist with month-end financial reporting and statements.
Monitor and control cash handling procedures, ensuring secure storage of funds.
Follow all hotel accounting and financial policies, procedures, and controls.
Night Safety and Security:
Maintain a secure environment for guests and employees throughout the night.
Monitor hotel access and ensure the safety of property and guests.
Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical situations, or security concerns in accordance with hotel protocols.
Responsible Business Practices:
Adhere to Maya Hotels' policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics.

Education, Skills and Abilities:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or hospitality is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in front office operations or night audit roles is desirable.

NightAuditors serve a critical role by providing direct guest support throughout the hospitality experience by accurately processing and tracking transactions and other reportable items . NightAuditors must be adept and creative problem solvers, delivering above-average resolutions to guests' challenges. The primary responsibility of a NightAuditor is to deliver and exceed guest expectations, execute brand service standards, resolve challenges, ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting, and maintain excellent communication with guests, peers, and supervisors.
What you'll be doing...
* Welcome arriving guests and complete the hotel's arrival/check-in experience, ensuring special requests are fulfilled and accurate information is received.
* Thank departing guests, verify accurate billing, and encourage return visits.
* Effectively engage with guests through phone or electronic communication consistent with hotel brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Maintain integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality when handling guest records, cash reports, audit reports, and other guest or hotel information.
* Promote hotel brand loyalty programs, encourage guest participation, and offer special rate packages and upgrades when appropriate.
* Effectively communicate with hotel departments verbally or through hotel communication log to ensure timely and accurate delivery of guest expectations, fulfillment of needs, and challenge resolution.
* Listen to guests and empathize with their challenges. When necessary, solicit guest feedback and act on guests concerns.
* Always maintain professionalism consistent with hotel brand and company expectations.
* Know and communicate hotel emergency procedures; inform and assist guests in emergencies.
* If applicable, maintain balance and security of house bank and accurately log all transactions.
Requirements...
Experience & Education:
* 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in Hospitality or related industry
* High School diploma or equivalency education certificate required
Communication:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace
Physical:
* 8+ hours per day at standing desk/computer; stand and walk frequently throughout the workday
* Lift, lower, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally
* Ability to independently work during overnight hours
