In this role, you will: You'll provide strategic insight and thought leadership while diving into data as needed to support resource adequacy policy development. How You'll Make an Impact
* Partner across MISO and with stakeholders to advance Resource Adequacy policy.

* Apply economic and financial concepts to support PRA execution, analysis, and interpretation-evaluating balance sheets, KPIs, and market outcomes.
* Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support business performance reviews and resolve variances.
* Build and maintain PRA financial reporting systems using industry best practices, including GAAP.
* Lead post-auction financial processes such as Excess Revenue reviews and financial hedge options for PRA participants.
What Success Looks Like
You have a solid grasp of the PRA, its inputs, and its drivers. You can confidently review and assess LSE load forecasts, track and report financial settlements, and translate complex information into meaningful insights for internal teams and stakeholders.

As a Unit Commitment Advisor, you will collaborate with the Unit Commitment Operators and the Operational Risk Assessment team to ensure MISO is set up for success every day to maintain reliability, given a degree of uncertainty, while minimizing commitment costs.
You will have an opportunity to lead and participate in opportunities for improvement to successfully move the Unit Commitment business forward, as well as helping to prioritize business efforts within the team and division. * A high-level understanding of the key functional tools and understand their impact and relevancy to the Unit Commitment processes.

As an Energy Market Systems Engineer II, you will be part of a highly skilled team at the core of MISO's mission. The electric utility industry is facing exciting changes due to digitalization, decentralization, and decarbonization of the electric system and MISO's Energy Market Systems Engineer team is looking to meet those challenges head-on. You will help MISO maintain reliable and efficient energy market outcomes by ensuring a well-designed and robust market system that effectively meets the needs of our control room operations and MISO customers.
In this role you will collaborate closely with Research & Development, Market Design, Market Operations, IT and our software vendors to design and develop practical and effective technical solutions including the development of new system enhancements and market products. You will also investigate market outcomes, troubleshoot system issues, and leverage in-depth knowledge to manage a wide range of operational and customer inquiries. We are looking for hardworking engineers who have:

* At least two years of utility, transmission operations, real-time operations, or related experience
We would also prefer candidates with the following work experience:
* Market system applications, unit commitment and dispatch, EMS applications, model development, software testing, or operational support experience

Key Responsibilities Include:
* Analyzing industry trends and regulatory developments to assess their impact on power system planning.
* Evaluating the reliability and adequacy of the grid using advanced engineering and economic tools.

We seek candidates who possess the following qualifications:

* At least six years of related experience.
* Demonstrated experience conducting strategic assessments of regulatory, economic, reliability and industry trends affecting the electric power sector, particularly related to transmission and generation infrastructure.
* Proven ability to analyze complex system operations-such as long-term reliability, resource adequacy, and market design-using advanced engineering or economic methodologies.
While not required, it would be great if you have experience in any of the following:
* Experience evaluating emerging risks and incorporating cross-sectoral insights (e.g., gas-electric interdependencies) into system planning and operational strategies.
* Power System Analysis: Proficiency in transmission planning, load flow analysis, reliability assessment, and understanding of generation-transmission interactions.
* Regulatory and Market Knowledge: Familiarity with energy policy, regulatory frameworks (e.g., FERC, NERC), and market operations within the electric utility sector.
* Quantitative Modeling & Analysis: Experience with statistical tools, scenario planning, and decision-making under uncertainty.
* Simulation Tools: Hands-on experience with power system planning and reliability tools such as PSSE, TSAT, VSAT, PSCAD, PROMOD, SERVM, PLEXOS, TARA, or PROBE.
