General Summary: The TRIO Learning Specialist (12 month) is a member of the TRIO Program for Student Achievement team which uses a caseload model in a non-therapeutic setting to provide academic, career, transfer, financial aid and personal advising to 100 program participants, 100% of whom are students with documented disabilities. In service to TRIO grant objectives of good academic standing, retention, progress to graduation and transfer to four-year institutions, this position will:
Essential Job Functions
* Instruct in study and learning strategies to promote independent learning and encourage students to develop a systematic approach to studying that will serve them throughout their coursework.
* Provide academic and career advising and assist in the course selection and registration process.
* Support students in accessing and implementing accommodations.
* Conduct intake interviews, reviews application materials, and creates a customized service plan for each student.
* Participate in program specific recruitment activities within the college.
* Outreach to students who may be experiencing academic difficulties as determined by academic deficiency grades, early alert system and class withdrawals and make appropriate referrals to college and community resources.
* Assist with financial aid and scholarship application process including assistance in applying for educational funds from sources at MCC, potential transfer institutes and other funding sources.
* Maintain student advisor log and record student contacts using Student Access database, Navigate and other college platforms.
* Manage and implement the TRIO PSA Early Awareness process.
* Maintain awareness of current issues supporting students with disabilities in post-secondary settings.
* Attend training sessions and meetings including professional development opportunities.
* Assist in the development of and presentation of skill building workshops for program participants such as time management, project management, resume writing, financial literacy.
* Provide support for TRIO PSA program goals in the areas of financial literacy information and education.
* Write letters of recommendation for participants for awards, scholarship, fellowship, and employment opportunities, and as part of the transfer process.
* Offers comprehensive transfer planning, including campus visits, college fairs, and applying for educational funds from sources at MCC, potential transfer institutes and other funding sources.
* Assist students in writing requirements including but not limited to: scholarship applications, financial aid appeals, college essays, resumes, and cover letters.
* Attend TRIO program staff meetings as well as in-services and education programs relevant to job performance.
* Conduct exit interviews with students who complete, transfer or discontinue enrollment.
* Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple college offices and departments including Student Access and Support Services, Academic Centers for Enrichment, Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid/ Student Accounts, Veterans Resource Center, Wellness and Essential Needs and with external agencies as appropriate.
* Provide direct services as a case manager to program participants.
* Provide 1:1 support in metacognitive strategies during tutoring sessions.
* Provide 1:1 support in time management, organizational and study skills, test taking strategies, and self-advocacy.
* Provide 1:1 support to students to assist with college readiness skills, address academic challenges, activities that promote college retention and support in academic areas
* Build strong advising relationships, monitors students' progress toward individual and program goals, making referrals to appropriate college resources.
Requirements:
* Master's degree required in Special Education, Education Psychology, Counseling or related field.
* At least 1 years of related disability services experience in training/teaching/providing direct service in a secondary or postsecondary environment
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for the required Master's Degree
* Demonstrated understanding and /or developing knowledge of ADAAA/Section 504 of Rehab Act, with knowledge of disability documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated knowledge of outreach, recruitment, and intervention services and strategies that address the needs of individuals with disabilities including Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Psycho-Social disabilities.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and apply tutoring methods to engage individuals of diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds.
* Ability to work with students in-person and through online platforms.
* Ability to provide clear and concise explanations.
* Strong time management, organizational and communication skills.

Additional Information:
This position is supported through federal grant funding. While the college is fully committed to the success of this program, continued employment in this role is contingent upon ongoing grant funding. Should federal funding change in the future, the position may be impacted.

Part-Time Overnight Weekend Position The Fisher College Police Department is actively seeking a part-time sergeant, a pivotal role that supports the college's overall mission and provides security and related public safety services for the protection of Fisher College, students, staff, visitors, and assets.
The Police Sergeant is responsible for supervising personnel of equal or lesser rank and is involved in a wide range of duties, including planning, assigning, and directing the activities of subordinates. The Sergeant also plays a key role in monitoring and evaluating the performance of subordinates and provides written documentation that meets the requirements of Fisher College's formal evaluation process.
Generally working under the supervision of the Administrative Lieutenant, the Sergeant shall have immediate control of the personnel under their command and shall be held strictly accountable for their efficiency, effectiveness, discipline, appearance, and overall conduct to ensure appropriate enforcement and compliance with the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the policies, procedures, and regulations of Fisher College, consistent with the interests of protecting the lives and property of the members of the Fisher College community. In the absence of any superior officer, the Sergeant shall assume complete charge of the department until otherwise relieved by a higher authority.
The Sergeant must be adaptable and ready to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and overtime as assigned. The department operates on a "five days on, two days off" schedule, balancing work and personal life.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act, an individual to whom students and employees should report criminal offenses or who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities. * Overseeing planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of the educational programs, including curriculum development and the nursing program systematic evaluation plan.

* Orienting, mentor and evaluate full-time and part-time faculty in their areas of responsibility according to the MCCC contract for Practical Nursing Program.

* Developing schedules for all classes offered in the Practical Nursing Program.
* Preparing reports as needed for regulatory agencies, the College, and to support Nursing program initiatives and to assess the effectiveness of initiatives.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE JOB:
Education level: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology field or 2 years relevant work experience.
Technology skills:
* Comprehensive understanding of PC and Mac hardware and experience performing substantial repairs on desktop computers and laptops
* Intermediate (2+ years) PC/Mac/Printer Hardware configurations and troubleshooting
* Experience installing and troubleshooting software and hardware
* Knowledge of desktop security/networking and standards and working knowledge of local area networks (wired/wireless)
* Experience delivering tier 2-3 desktop support to end users in a mixed Windows and Mac environment
* Experience with troubleshooting Extron AV systems
* Experience with wired/wireless microphone systems, audio amplification and PA systems

Position Summary
The Controller's Office is seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant to provide support for the accounting, payroll, and accounts payable functions of the College. Key responsibilities include processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, assisting with payroll, and preparing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll
* Verify biweekly timecard submissions for accuracy and proper approval.
* Provide responsive support to college departments regarding timecard entry and payroll inquiries.
* Process payroll adjustments and stipend payment data into the payroll system.
* Act as back-up in processing the biweekly and/or monthly stipend payroll.
* Reviews and processes student employment during the academic year.
Accounts Payable
* Review and approve invoice submissions in the AP Emburse system.
* Act as backup in processing weekly check runs.
* Ensure proper use and timely allocation and approval of college expenses with the college's purchasing card.
* Process and submit electronic payment files to the bank.
* Maintain vendor listing by reviewing and verifying new additions/change requests.
Accounting
* Perform cashiering duties, including the collection of cash/checks, preparing bank deposits, disbursing petty cash, and recording related journal entries.
* Prepare account reconciliations and required journal entries.
* Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
* An associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
* 1-3 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, or general accounting functions.
* Experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment is a plus.

Repair faucets and other bathroom fixtures, and unclog toilets. Reset electrical circuit breakers and report problems to appropriate personnel. Replace burnt out light bulbs. Assemble and make minor repairs of office furniture. Make minor installations of bookshelves, cabinets, pictures, clocks and the like. Repair department equipment. Assist with maintenance of mechanical systems as needed, including changing and inventorying filters. Grounds Assist with the recycling and trash disposal program. Assist in completing setup and maintenance related assignments for special events, meetings and College functions. Assist with moving equipment and furniture as needed. Perform grounds work and custodial work as needed. Remove snow and ice as needed. Plant Operations staff are considered essential personnel. In the event of the cancellation or delay of classes for any reason, maintenance staff may be required to report to work. All maintenance staff are responsible for reporting to work during and beyond their standard work days/hours due to inclement weather, emergency situations and special events as determined by the Director or Assistant Director of Plant Operations. Safety Wear appropriate safety equipment while performing all duties requiring such equipment. Know proper use of and where to locate all safety related equipment. Report hazardous and unusual situations to the appropriate authority. Administrative Check individual mailbox at least 3 times per day for work orders, requisitions and other important College related information. Complete all work orders and requisitions in a timely manner, and properly process and return all completed work orders and requisitions. Carry a provided cell phone or radio at all times. Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual when operating a College owned, leased or personal vehicle at any time while performing duties. Report any driving offense, on or off company time, which causes a loss, suspension, or any other change in your license status within one business day of the offense to the Human Resource Department or your direct supervisor. Maintain a clean work area and an adequate inventory of all shop supplies and equipment. Attend training sessions as required. Supervise employees of a lower level. Perform related duties as required.

Education level:
A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is preferred. This position requires some high school and the ability to read, write, and follow work orders.

* General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, machine tools, and maintenance equipment related to these areas.
