Position Summary:
The Field Engineer in heavy civil construction plays a vital role in supporting project execution by managing on-site engineering functions, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining quality control. This position involves coordinating project schedules, reviewing plans, and overseeing daily field activities to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and within project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Assisting and participation in following project functions and duties.

Cooperatively participate in the development, implementation, and execution of innovative means, methods, and construction strategies, to perform the work safely and productively. Develop activity work plans to successfully execute the work safely and efficiently.
Actively participate in the strategic development of a project management plan including development of comprehensive, CPM schedule, to include all deliverables, activity durations, work sequence, constraints, interim milestones etc., manage updates and required schedule narratives.
Actively assist in the development and management of project budget, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material resource plans.
Actively participate in the over-all day-today operational and decision-making project management functions including accountability for project execution and P&L results.
Assist in the procurement, buy-out, and management of subcontractors, suppliers/vendors to ensure work is delivered timely, safely, and compliant to quality standards.
Track and verify accuracy of project productions, cost coding of manhours, equipment and in-place quantities are documented daily. Prepare and submit accurate project cost reporting, revenue, and cash flow projections.
Assist in project engineering activities that comply with the companys process, procedures, and contractual requirements.
Actively participate in project submittal process to ensure timely receipt, review and approval of submittals and shop drawings, as-builts, and other contract required documentation and project RFI process to ensure timely receipt, review, response close out.
Actively participate in project quality control and quality assurance plans to ensure work is constructed in compliance and is accurately documented through clear and traceable records keeping and reporting.
Provide technical support for, construction planning, interpretation of design and the development of efficient construction methods.
Develop and produce required design, drawings, engineering calcs, for project components or activities such as crane/hoisting lifts, temporary structures or works, falsework, shoring, formwork, safety systems, etc.
Actively participate in project close-out including, required documentation, timely management of punch list, commissioning, and transitional system operations turnover.
Assist in interpretation and dissemination of drawings, specifications, and other relevant project documents, for field crews and craft supervision.
Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed and installed materials and work.
Participate in the creation and implementation of Job/ Activity Hazard Analysis, Construction Work Plans, and work packages.
Assist in field surveying and project layout including elevations, control points, and compilation of as-built data.
Track and verify accuracy of project productions, cost coding of manhours, equipment and in-place quantities are documented daily.
Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training.
Order and schedule material deliveries.
Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations.
Participate in CPM schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others.
Assist in the maintenance of project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums.
Participate in project daily data entry, for project tracking including, productions, labor, equipment, etc. and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management.
Assist in identifying and documenting, change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager.
Provide overall support to project field operations.
Qualifications:
Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and or two (2) years of relevant experience in a similar capacity in heavy-civil construction projects.
Preferred 2+ years' construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure related projects.
Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, BlueBeam.
Preferred experience utilizing; HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, P6.
Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
Must have a valid Drivers License.

You must be able to effectively deal with high pressure situations and know how to manage frustrated customers.
In addition, you will also work with our premium services portfolio customers facilitating a first-class customer experience. This will include but is not limited to onboarding new customers into our premium services model, escalated post-sales support working as part of a senior engineering resolution team, tools development to enable faster and better support outcomes and working in conjunction with our software engineering team either remotely and/or onsite for troubleshooting, diagnosis and remediation of product, network design and or implementation issues.

Job Description:
We are hiring senior level Advanced Customer Engineering (ACE) engineers to work with our largest and most important customers. This position will be primarily responsible for working with our Critical Account Program customers. This work includes, senior level case oversight/review, facilitating software engineering needs for defects, remote and/or fly and fix support when these customers run into issues that our support team can't fix remotely, customer is frustrated and/or the customer doesn't have the tools needed for data collection. You must be able to effectively deal with high pressure situations and know how to manage frustrated customers.
In addition, you will also work with our premium services portfolio customers facilitating a first-class customer experience. This will include but is not limited to onboarding new customers into our premium services model, escalated post-sales support working as part of a senior engineering resolution team, tools development to enable faster and better support outcomes and working in conjunction with our software engineering team either remotely and/or onsite for troubleshooting, diagnosis and remediation of product, network design and or implementation issues.
The ACE team is highly respected in the organization and is considered a senior level engineering team that is relied upon to get things done others can't. The average tenure with Aruba is approximately 10 years and the average level of industry experience is 15-20 years. Half the team are at the Distinguished Technologists job level. You will need to have excellent technical skills in your area of expertise but must also have outstanding communication skills. You must be able to effectively communicate to company IT executives as well as the front-line engineering staff. You must be willing to learn new technologies and be self-starter when it comes to training. The team is friendly and operates as team, supporting each other as well as the larger Premium Services organization. The position requires approximately 25-50% travel. You will manage your own travel schedule and will be required to be proactive in getting the information you need to be effective when engaging with customers.
Responsibilities:
Working with our Critical Account Program customers acting as the senior technical resource
Working with our premium services customers for onboarding as well as provide ongoing care and feeding them based on the premium services level that they have purchased.
Identifying suboptimal designs and/or misconfigurations and consulting on plans to correct.
Working with engineering escalations team and customers while remote or onsite to identify and troubleshoot bugs.
Build strong customer relationships and become a trusted advisor.
Build strong relationships across the wider internal organization to increase your knowledge, get faster outcomes and build trust.
You will be expected to be very collaborative with the team and the rest of the team will be expected to do the same. More communication usually provides better outcomes and increases engineering talent's experience and knowledge levels.
Requires some travel that should not exceed 50%. Travel varies based on time of year, software release cycles and new hardware releases.
Location is not important as long as you are close to a major airport.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
Core Duties:
Cryogenics and Fluid Services Engineering (80%):
Define and oversee maintenance, testing, and repair activities on cryogenic and fluid service systems.
Develop procedures, specifications, drawings, and training material to ensure safe and reliable operation during the systems life cycle.
Prepare and maintain engineering calculations, systems models, and maintenance plans.
Define and maintain spare parts inventory.
Oversee operator training, operations and troubleshooting in support of experimental plasma research.
Lead or direct assigned technical support and engineering staff.
Ensure procedures, drawings, and other technical documents associated with the system are accurate and current per management of change and configuration management processes.
This position will primarily support National Spherical Torus eXperiment Upgrade (NSTX-U) systems, however support of other experiments at PPPL is expected.
Engineering Operations Support (20%):
The incumbent will be expected to train for operational roles such as NSTX-U Chief Operations Engineer (COE).
Coordinate the startup, routine operation, and shutdown of numerous high power one-of-a-kind pressure, vacuum, and electrical systems.
Coordinate operation of the NSTX-U device, including initiating each “pulse”.
Ensure operations stay within safety basis parameters defined for the facility.
Respond to fault conditions for NSTX-U operations and safety envelopes.
Assure proper conduct of operations communications across the operating team.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering discipline required. Master's degree with a specialization in cryogenic engineering preferred.
8+ years' work experience in an industrial, military, or experimental research environment.
5+ years' work experience in the engineering and operations of cryogenic systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Process experience, preferably with a cryogenic plant, is required.
Experience with preventative maintenance of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and pressure relief devices, including experience developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance programs for mechanical utility systems is required.
Experience with mechanical utility systems such as vacuum, compressed gases, or SF6 is beneficial.
Experience in the preparation of technical documentation such as operational, maintenance and installation procedures, piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs), and process flow diagrams is required.
Experience with cryogenic plant simulation and modeling is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO).
Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3.
Knowledge of automated logic control systems.
Demonstrated technical writing and spreadsheet skills.
Ability to work with a diverse array of individuals, from maintenance crews to research collaborators is required.
Ability to interface effectively with a wide range of scientific and technical personnel.

* Operates all high pressure steam boilers with super-heaters, economizes and auxiliary equipment.
* Operates all steam turbine generators, condensers, condensing water pumps and other related auxiliaries, synchronizing the generators when necessary, synchronizing Mass Electrics cables with the generator when necessary. * Observes power demand and consumption making required adjustments for power factor correction, frequency and voltage.
* Operates four (4) electrical power systems, namely, the Uninterrupted Power System (UPS), normal 13,800 volts power distribution system from the utility company and the Emergency Power System from the standby diesel generator.
* Operates all centrifugal compressors, motors, condensing steam turbine-driven, condensing water pumps and other related auxiliaries. Logs observations.

Job Purpose:
The Project Engineer (PE) supports project managers and field teams in planning, coordinating and executing CROM's projects safely, to the highest standard of quality and with purpose driven efficiency. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Technical Support
Review plans and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and scope alignment. Assist Project Managers in reviewing and interpreting contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
Prepare and review submittals, shop drawings, product data, and technical documents.
Maintain and update project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Coordinate with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Attend coordination meetings and track action items.
Support field operations with layout verification, quality checks, and documentation.
Support field installation by resolving technical questions and providing clarifications.
Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project operations.
Procurement & Material Management
Assist with purchasing materials, equipment, and specialty components.
Track delivery schedules and lead times to avoid delays.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure products meet project requirements and specifications
Quality Control & Compliance

Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar, or an equivalent technical degree, or equivalent and qualifying industry expertise.
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Valid Driver's License, with a clean driving record and Insurance.
Must be a team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a specialty contracting discipline.
Internships or 1-3 years of industry experience desirable.
30 Hour OSHA Certification

First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification.

Working Conditions:
Travel: This position will require that the Project Engineer travel in the assigned territory, field deployed, and assignment dictated by the number of projects in the area at any given time and as required by the Regional Team and Director of Construction.
Travel to project sites, vendor locations, or coordination meetings.
Mix of office and field work depending on project requirements.
Projects in other areas/territories and with other Regional Managers/ Regional Leads may be assigned as fluctuations occur in the workload of the assigned Regional Manager/Regional Lead.
Extended work hours are required as necessary to meet project deadlines.
