You arrive at the office each day ready to help the surgical clearance team organize and maintain an active surgery schedule. Collaborating with patients, you ensure that preoperative testing has been completed and appointments have been scheduled with their primary care physician or specialist. For patients requiring immediate and future surgeries, you confirm clearances and preoperative labs that were ordered. You also obtain any other necessary information and complete data entry so that all the details are recorded in the right place. You review the surgery scheduling sheet and transcribe the information into the surgery facility's platform. Your attention to detail and data entry skills are essential! In addition to assisting scheduling regular appointments and surgeries, you send reminders and schedule emergency and add-on surgeries. You verify that the correct insurance is on file when scheduling surgery. You pride yourself on ensuring all surgical cases are scheduled in a timely manner in accordance with the physician's or surgeon's direction. To prepare for the recovery period after surgery, you follow postoperative guidelines as you order equipment, home health, and home physical therapy for our patients.
