POSITION SUMMARY:
The Research Assistant will perform research activities using approved techniques. Conducts patient recruitment, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, performs administrative tasks, assists in grant preparation, performs literature searches and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. May also assist the principal investigator with translation to Spanish or Haitian Creole, interpreting experimental results, and in preparing and writing manuscripts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assists in data collection and provides feedback on study's progress.
* Recruits subjects to participate in the study by using approved methodologies, such as, reaching to healthcare providers for referrals, visiting clinics, sending mailouts, using approved advertisements, etc.
* Conducts the enrollment of study participants, including explaining research procedures, and obtaining informed consent of subjects and/or their families.
* Schedules appointments of study participants; conducts reminder phone calls and/or sends mailouts. Obtains and distributes payment vouchers for participant reimbursements/participation.
Administrative
* Responsible for the administrative aspects of the research study, including: managing program records and handling communication needs of the program.
* Prepares and maintains Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and correspondence, including amendments and renewals as necessary.
* Perform administrative duties associated with the study's Data Monitoring and Safety Board, tracking and reporting adverse events and collecting data specified by the DSMB. Responsible for all other administrative duties related to research activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required by the time of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
* Prefer experience in clinical research, public health experience or working with children and families.
* Previous experience with recruiting subjects, with an understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
* Bilingual candidate preferred, not required, fluent in spoken and written English, Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole.
* Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers. Experience with statistical software a plus.
* Phlebotomy skills a plus

RIZE Massachusetts Foundation (RIZE), launched in 2017, is the only public-private nonprofit partnership in the Commonwealth dedicated to funding and collaborating on solutions to end the overdose crisis. In 2024, the Healey-Driscoll Administration selected RIZE to create and manage Mosaic Opioid Recovery Partnership (Mosaic). Funded by the MA Opioid Recovery and Remediation Fund and the MA Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, through a nine-year state contract, Mosaic is a unique public-private partnership that allows small, community-based organizations and municipalities to apply for settlement funds. The grants, approximately $5 million annually, strengthen prevention, harm reduction, treatment, recovery, trauma, and family support programs. In 2025, RIZE assumed a significant role in providing training and technical support to municipalities participating in the Mosaic partnership through a second state contract, bringing the Mosaic programs together in a cohesive and coordinated way, creating a powerful impact for our communities. Beginning November 1, 2025, RIZE became the fiscal sponsor of the Massachusetts Harm Reduction Workforce Coalition through another state contract.
Over the past two years, RIZE has seen tremendous growth. Qualifications
Research indicates housing, food, financial, and other forms of socioeconomic insecurity impact health outcomes. To improve our patients' health and wellbeing, MGH primary care patients are asked to complete a social determinants of health (SDH) survey annually. The goal is to identify and address SDH early by assessing and referring patients to internal and external resources. This role will work with families of pediatric patients who have screened positive for SDH needs. This role will work closely with the Medicaid ACO Community Resource Navigator (CRN) role group, with the Integrated Care Management (iCMP) Community Resource Specialist (CRS) group, and the Pediatric Department
The Medicaid ACO and iCMP resource navigation teams have recently merged to build on best practices to advance health equity, improve health outcomes, and promote well-being of our MGH Primary care patients by addressing health-related social needs, system navigation, and care coordination as standard of care. The role collaborates to enhance the delivery of patient care services along the continuum of care bridging communication about patient social needs and resources available to them back to the clinical team. This position involves problem solving to ensure each unique patient is evaluated for their unique abilities and capacity in addition to their identified SDH needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess patients/families who have screened positive on one or more of the SDH questions
* Determine the scope of the patient/family's need and family's ability to follow through and take action on appropriate
resources
* Identify previous or current efforts to address the need
* Identify previous or current engagement with internal and/or external resources
Provide patient education and referral to resources
* Identify and provide information on the network of services and eligibility including service provider addresses,
telephone number and, as available, contact person; may involve investigation and outreach to internal
and community providers
* Follow up with patients to confirm engagement and respond to outstanding questions or re-refer as appropriate.
Assess if there are other care coordination needs within the medical, behavioral health or social systems.

Job Summary
The Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking highly motivated pharmacists to join our expanding team of Primary Care Pharmacists. This position offers a rare and exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and implementation of new clinical pharmacy services within a primary care setting! We are hiring one full-time pharmacist (1.0 FTE), with flexible options available for candidates who may be interested in a part-time role (0.8 FTE).
In this role, clinicians will collaborate with interdisciplinary and specialty services to manage chronic disease states through a Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) agreement. Initial efforts will focus on the management of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, expanding to additional disease states in the future. Key responsibilities for the clinician include conducting comprehensive patient visits, creating and implementing patient centered, guideline directed disease state management strategies, and providing ongoing monitoring. Recognized as an integral member of the team, pharmacists will collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, population health coordinators, medication access coordinators, and community health workers to support holistic, patient-centered care and improve health outcomes. Non-direct patient care responsibilities include participation in quality improvement initiatives, research, and the training and education of multidisciplinary team members and learners.
Qualifications
Clinical Pharmacists assume responsibility and accountability for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy. Clinical Pharmacists proficiently provide direct patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy operational services with physicians, nurses, and other hospital personnel to deliver optimal medication therapy to patients with a broad range of disease states. These clinicians are aligned with target interdisciplinary programs and specialty services to deliver medication therapy management and to ensure pharmaceutical care programs are appropriately integrated throughout the institution. Pharmaceutical care services include, but are not limited to, assessing patient needs, incorporating age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events. Clinical Pharmacists serve as departmental resources and liaisons to other departments, hospital personnel, or external groups. POSITION SUMMARY:
Hospital discharge is a dangerous time for patients: one in five will suffer an adverse event, such as a medication error, and nearly 25% will be readmitted within 30 days. This is especially true for patients who face communication barriers, including those with low health literacy, are elderly, or have a non-English language preference (NELP).
The goal of the proposed project is to deliver an educational intervention to patients recently discharged from the hospital. We will recruit patients with NELP currently admitted to the hospital. A nurse will deliver the intervention by phone within 72 hours of discharge. We will evaluate patient outcomes, including by a phone interview within 1-2 weeks of discharge.

Qualifications
Research Community Health Worker (CHW): The Disparities Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking Bilingual Spanish Research Community Health Workers to be trained to offer interventions through clinical sites in socially vulnerable communities. Interventions will focus on mental health, obesity/weight management, and cancer screening and are part of a large, multisite grant. CHWs will receive formal training in their intervention of focus. They will conduct group and/or individual sessions with enrolled patients, maintain post-session notes, and conduct careful tracking of intervention sessions. Sessions may be held by zoom or in person, and will be audio recorded for quality control. CHWs will take part in weekly supervision with licensed providers to receive input and coaching support. Community Health Workers may also be trained to conduct outreach to potential participants, and to invite them to be screened to take part. Role can be part or full time, depending on candidates and areas of intervention focus.
Community Health Worker candidates should enjoy interacting with patients, be empathetic and proactive, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment working with patients across several sites. CHWs will travel to participating clinics sites (travel compensation available). Bilingual in Spanish.

Job Summary
This is a part-time position for someone interested in helping patients with complex psychiatric, medical and social problems improve their access and utilization of psychiatric/health care services.
A Community Health Worker (CHW) is a trusted member of the community who helps patients better access and coordinate their psychiatric care. We believe that CHWs have the skills and experience to understand what patients are going through and help them address the social and medical problems that lead to poor health. The goal of a community health worker is to assist the most high-risk patients with the tasks of getting psychiatric/medical care, working on health goals (such as arranging care, filling medication prescriptions, planning healthy meals, or finding time to exercise), and to help them deal with the "real-life" issues that keep them from staying healthy. Although a CHW is not in a clinical role, having the capacity to learn basic clinical concepts in order to identify when a referral to a licensed clinician is appropriate is an important skill.
The CHW will work with patients receiving care at Brigham and Women's Hospital outpatient psychiatric clinic. CHWs are integrated into the outpatient psychiatric team, serving as a bridge between the team and patients in the community. As a CHW in our department, you will develop trusting working relationships with your patients and be supported by a psychiatric team that includes social workers, nurses and psychiatrists.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide community health work services for patients identified as high-risk due to psychiatric or psychosocial challenges.
* Attend initial and continuing education training programs including self-directed reading and in-person and online learning.
* Work with patient and interdisciplinary team to set goals for patient's care.
* Meet patients in the emergency department, primary care clinic or hospital to reinforce and advance patient goals.
* Coordinate resources for identified problems including community mental health services, homelessness, substance abuse and food insecurity.
* Make weekly follow-up calls to patients.
* Motivate patients to meet their health goals.
* Provide culturally sensitive services to patients from different cultures.
* Assist patients with organizing their records, making follow-up appointments, and filling their prescriptions.
* Help patients fill out applications for Medical Assistance and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
* Provide advocacy, patient education and support in accessing community-based and hospital-based programs.
* Refer to internal or external care management services when other issues are identified (i.e., food insecurity, domestic violence, etc.)
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the social worker, nurse, psychiatrist and health center behavioral health team.
* Document each patient encounter in detail.
* Prepare reports and documents as needed or requested.
* Attend a clinical team meeting with program supervisors.
* Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Spanish speaking preferred.
