A Military Analyst, at times referred to as an Intelligence Analyst, is a military figure who works within a government or military organization and is tasked with collecting and analyzing information with the ultimate goal of assessing situations and deciding upon the best course of action and the best military strategy.
These analysts may work on various types of projects, whether it be enemy intelligence or working as a consultant for larger changes in the military system, new military and tech projects, and so on. Some may also work with satellites or radar, or primarily with communication systems. They must keep clean and highly-detailed records and learn to discern legitimate facts from information that may not be entirely or at all factual.
A person hoping to work as a Military Analyst should generally have a bachelor's or higher diploma in a subject such as military history, operations research, or political science. The individual should also have previous experience working in the military of their country. Excellent communication and analysis skills are key to doing well in this position, and a knowledge of languages, maps, and technology may be beneficial or even necessary.
