* U.S. citizenship is required. U.S. citizens are legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and are entitled to all rights and protections under U.S. law.
* Possess a current valid driver's license. Must be REAL ID compliant.

* Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory. You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon, or your conviction was expunged or set aside.
* Candidates are required to complete an intensive 13-week training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, followed by specialized 18-week training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Failure to pass the training program may result in separation from the Secret Service.
* Sign a mobility agreement stating your willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas.
* Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
* Must have uncorrected vision of at least 20/100, correctable to 20/20 in each eye. LASIK, ALK, RK, and PRK surgeries are acceptable if required post-surgery visual tests are passed: Lasik (3 months), PRK (6 months), ALK/RK (1 year) waiting periods apply.
* Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500,1000 and 2000Hz ranges.
Qualifications

As part of the application process the applicant will be required to complete the United States Secret Service Applicant Physical Abilities Test (APAT). It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. It evaluates the applicant's ability to perform the physical tasks required on the job by measuring muscular and dynamic strength, endurance, flexibility, aerobic capacity and other factors related to physical aptitude. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

The Correction Division's operating philosophy is Strategic Inmate Management (SIM). Deputies assigned to Corrections fulfill their role, complete their duties, and perform assigned tasks according to the elements, principles, and behavioral requirements of Inmate Behavior Management and Direct Supervision.
Expectations of deputies assigned to Corrections include but are not limited to the following Direct Supervision elements and behavioral requirements:
Element 1: Conduct safety and security inspections. Conduct searches of the housing unit common areas to identify and address safety and security issues.
Element 2: Supervisory authority in the housing unit. Serve as the sole authority in the unit. Primary decision-maker on matters concerning inmates and activities in the unit.
Establish and maintain a positive supervisory relationship with inmates. Provide direction and coaching to inmates. Supervise all unit activities. Monitor all inmate behavior to ensure inmates are not exerting control over other inmates.
Element 3: Provides information and responds to requests and concerns. Use all available resources to answer inmate requests. If a deputy is unable to answer a request, a written response will be provided.
Element 4: Continuously interact with inmates throughout the shift. Actively listen, demonstrate interest and concern, and respond to inmate requests while interacting with inmates in the unit.
Element 5: Familiarity with all inmates under his/her supervision. Able to describe patterns of inmate behavior and recognize changes.
Element 6: Identify and address problems in the early stages. Identify potential conflict among inmates through verbal and non-verbal cues and take appropriate action to determine and address the root cause.
Element 7: Motivate inmates to comply with facility rules and behavioral expectations. Ensure inmates understand facility rules and expectations for their behavior. Serve as a positive role model for inmate behavior in the unit. Use positive motivation techniques to encourage inmates to comply with facility rules and behavioral expectations. Consistently and fairly hold inmates accountable for complying with rules and behavioral expectations. Convey changes to housing unit rules and behavior expectations during unit town hall meetings.

Report or respond to incidents, security, and safety concerns per established post orders, including responding to alarms.
Monitor security cameras and other electronic surveillance systems.
Guide, follow, and direct individuals throughout the Site.
Assist in controlling physical and electronic locks and unlocking and locking doors and areas.
The Cleared Armed Security Officer will perform testing and other inspection services related to access control, including routine inspections, and testing of alarms, locks, doors, monitoring systems, and other access control mechanisms.
Prevent the theft of physical or intellectual property.
Assist in promoting communication and awareness of data center security policies to client employees, vendors, contractors, and others.

Required Qualifications:

About the Position:
As a Security Officer, you will ensure a positive customer experience by ensuring a safe and secure environment for all. You are responsible for addressing disruptive or offensive behavior, unsafe conditions, and minimizing theft of library property.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Qualifications:

Site Location: Springfield, OH
Set schedule options (2):
Option 1 - Full-time, 1st & 3rd, Saturday & Sunday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (40 hours/ week)
Option 2 - Part-time, 3rd shift, Thursday through Saturday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (24 hours/ week)
Competitive hourly wage of $18.10/ hr (DailyPay is available for GardaWorld employees!)

Responsibilities for Response Security Guard:
Monitor the premises to ensure security
Conduct patrols to spot any suspicious activity
Control access points and verify identities
Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats
Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security
Write detailed reports on events and incidents
Collaborate with authorities during serious situations
Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property
Qualifications for Response Security Guard:
Be authorized to work in the U.S.
Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations
Responsive and strong problem solving skills
If you have Security, Military, Law Enforcement experience - even better!
You have a state license if required

Job Title: Campus Safety Officer
Summary Description: Ohio Christian University is seeking a full-time Campus Safety Officer to provide for the security of academic, residential and administrative buildings. In addition, provide general and emergency support services, and maintain a safe / supportive campus environment. This is a second shift position and is classified as an essential employee and he or she is expected to be on duty when scheduled regardless of whether the campus is closed.
Tasks and Responsibilities: Performs security duties while patrolling or monitoring surveillance systems and the physical safety of campus buildings by locking and unlocking doors. Checks for unauthorized persons, safety hazards, and general security violations, enforcing traffic, parking regulations, and issuing tickets. Provides escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty as necessary, perform jump-starts, and other public assistant requests. Reports all problems or emergencies to immediate supervisor and documents incidents with a written report. Maintains a daily shift log and documents all activities during his or her shift. Act as a first responder in emergencies and serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
Qualifications: High School diploma / Associates degree / Previous security / Law Enforcement / Military experience. Current OPTA 20hr Private Security Firearms Certificate or the ability to obtain within 6 months of initial hire date. Be proactive, have excellent customer service skills, and a strong human relations skills with the ability to interact positively with a diverse university population, and team oriented.
Skills Necessary: Able to lift 50lbs; walk foot patrol routes; able to use Microsoft Word and Excel for reports: operate phones and radios; operate a motor vehicle.
Working Hours: Evening and possible overnight shifts Monday-Friday (subject to change to accommodate needs of the university).
