Background Investigation / Pre-employment Polygraph Examination Those candidates who advance to this phase must submit three (3) letters of recommendation prior to advancing to the Chief Oral Interview. Letters must be currently dated (not older than 6 months), signed and contain the address of the person writing the letter. Letters will not be accepted from any relative such as a spouse, parent, etc. A background investigation/pre-employment polygraph examination will be conducted on the top three applicants, or an amount as determined by the Chief, after the structured interview phase.
