Senior Engineer / Tech Lead - Salesforce

As a Senior Engineer / Tech Lead supporting our Salesforce Ecosystem, you will serve as a critical design authority within the Enterprise Applications team. This role is not only responsible for leading the technical architecture and solution design for a dedicated Salesforce delivery team (focused on either Sales Cloud or Service Cloud), but also acts as a trusted partner to the business-translating strategic goals into scalable, high-performing technology solutions.
You will work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure that Salesforce capabilities are aligned with enterprise objectives. Your leadership will guide the team through complex design decisions, balancing innovation with stability, and ensuring that our Salesforce implementations are robust, secure, and future-ready.
This is a high-impact role that requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. You'll be expected to influence roadmap decisions, advocate for engineering best practices, and proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical design and architecture of Salesforce solutions for Sales or Service teams, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Build and develop robust, enterprise-grade solutions using Apex, Lightning Components, Flows, and Salesforce APIs-balancing custom development with native platform capabilities.
Translate business requirements into actionable technical deliverables, partnering closely with product managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Own the full development lifecycle: from design and prototyping to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation standards.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Collaborate across teams to integrate Salesforce with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, data platforms), ensuring seamless data flow and user experience.
Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, including performance bottlenecks, security concerns, and platform limitations.
Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, evaluating new features and recommending adoption strategies where appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Salesforce development and architecture.
Proven experience leading Salesforce implementations for Sales Cloud or Service Cloud.
Strong understanding of Apex, Lightning Components, Flows, and Salesforce APIs.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and agile delivery methodologies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer II, Application Architect, Technical Architect) are a plus.

Base Salary Range
$127,000.00 - $169,000.00

The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.

Job Duties:
Respond to Customer Inquiries After Ting Fire Hazard Cases are Initiated: Act as the first point of contact for customers, responding to queries based on case hazard mitigation plans defined by FST Engineers and the hazard decision-tree troubleshooting guidance. Communication will be by audio calls, text messaging and email.
Customer Engagement and Follow-up: Work to achieve prompt customer responses once the hazard case is started. Continue follow-up communication with customers to get information to support troubleshooting and resolution of the case.
Perform Tier 1 Troubleshooting with Customers After Ting Fire Hazard Cases are Initiated: Use decision-tree troubleshooting guidance and customer communication scripts to step through Tier 1 case workflows and obtain all relevant customer information to get the case started. If the hazard is resolved as a Tier 1 case, you'll complete case closeout activities and escalate to your Team Lead for review and closeout.
Escalate Tier 2+ Cases to FST Engineers: Once all Tier 1 case objectives are completed, FST Techs will escalate cases to FST Engineers for more detailed troubleshooting and ultimate case hazard resolution.
Work Schedule and Travel: Work remotely from home and be willing to work on a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and travel as needed for training and team meetings.
Teamwork: Liaise between customers, FST Engineers, and other members of Whisker Labs and the FST to ensure seamless operations and service delivery to our customers. Work collaboratively with other team members, sharing knowledge and supporting each other to achieve common goals.
Signal and Pattern Recognition: Possess strong signal and pattern recognition abilities to learn and recognize fundamental fire hazard signal patterns in graphical data to communicate the presence and types of electrical fire hazard signals to customers and to use during troubleshooting.
Note Taking: Ability to accurately capture notes in our systems while communicating with customers to ensure any team member can pick up and continue the case without causing the customer undue frustration of repeating troubleshooting steps.
Continuous Improvement: Support team efforts to continuously improve and gain operation efficiencies by creating and maintaining documentation for internal training, workflow processes, and customer communication/troubleshooting.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in technical support, customer service, or a related field. Education and/or experience in technical troubleshooting, electrical systems or fire safety is an advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.

The Role
Saildrone's autonomous surface vehicles operate for unprecedented periods of time in the most unforgiving environments on the planet. From inside of hurricanes to the frigid waters of the Arctic, the stresses they endure are immense. The technical execution of preparing the vehicles for their mission and servicing their constituent parts must be performed with a high degree of skill and consistency. As a Vehicle Assembly & Service Technician, you will be responsible for constructing and servicing Saildrone vehicles as well as training and leading others to do the same.
You will collaborate with a variety of teams in engineering, operations, and production. You will interact with clients and lead teams, both in the shop and around the world, to execute assembly and service operations. You will help turn in-field realities into product improvements, serving as an important link between our end users and the teams at Saildrone who design our products.
What You'll Do
* Lead the assembly and service workflows for Saildrone's vehicle fleet, ensuring that our drones are fully mission capable and able to maintain exceptionally high uptime.
* Travel domestically and internationally to deploy and repair Saildrone vehicles.
* Train contractors, clients, and other third-parties on how to assemble and service Saildrone vehicles.
* Provide input on how to improve in-field assembly and service procedures as well as vehicle designs.

Main Duties:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, DX equipment, fan systems, and refrigeration units.
