How will you make an impact & Requirements Responsibilities Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic Identifies patient following protocol. Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials Reconciles outstanding sample report at day's end. Observe safety procedures and sample prep. Support and guide in day-to-day activities. Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures. Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program. 2+ years of experience in Lab. Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers. Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions. Knowledge of test requirements and how to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests. Ability to interpret miscellaneous order Ability to guide and observe new phlebotomists Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
