    NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing in Winsted, MN is seeking a 1 st shift Material Handler 1 to join our Appliance Weld team within the Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) team. The Material Handler 1 is responsible for the identification and location of specific component parts and delivering the materials/products to their intended locations. Job Title: Material Handler 1 Location: Winsted, MN Salary Range: $22.95 - 27.00 per hour (Non-Exempt) (In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.) Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm Shift Differential: 1st shift - N/A As a Material Handler 1, you will: Uses a crane, hoist, forklift, or other material handling equipment to transport materials and products into and out of the work area as required Enters job data in the production tracking system Inspects material handling equipment and lifting devices Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and band bundles together using banders Properly organizes and stores material Verifies/Counts parts moved to match paperwork for inventory accuracy Transacts material moves using barcode readers Participates and supports Continuous Improvement initiatives Maintains 5S guidelines Executes the daily plan to keep material flowing to satisfy the schedule Reads blueprints to identify parts May locate material from the traveler, which may include the shaft, bases, bands, couplings, arm plates, etc. which may be geographically in different locations Manages the flow of material based on the leader's direction Identifies and initiates corrective actions (NCM) to improve BOM and inventory accuracy Prioritizes and expedites material through Leads and Operators Maintains organization of products and raw materials Performs work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements Prioritizes and expedites material through Leads and Operators Maintains organization of products and raw materials Role qualifications as a Material Handler 1: Preferred candidates will have experience in a manufacturing environment Experience operating overhead cranes safely Skill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in English Skill to accurately use tape measure and precision measuring devices Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications Ability to perform basic shop math functions Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork in English Ability to electronically record production information Ability to work with others as part of a high-performance team Adapt to changing work priorities Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures Ability to present information to others to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines Why Millerbernd and Who We Are: We strive to create the best opportunities for our employees. Position Responsibilities * Operate company owned and leased trucks over 20 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations of bulk or packaged goods. * Perform required pre-trip, during and post-trip vehicle inspections and provide required reports. * Monitor hours of service accurately. * Provide outstanding customer service during the delivery and pick up operations. * Assist customers with questions or problems attend to customer needs. * Ensure delivered goods correspond to products identified on the bill of lading. * Maintain all required certifications required by the D.O.T, OSHA and company safety programs. * Maintain and protect all company property entrusted to you in excellent condition. * During loading and unloading process check weights of shipment and monitor distribution weight to legal road limits. * Ensures material is properly and safely loaded and unloaded from vehicle for either bulk or packaged delivery. * Check material for damage and quantity discrepancies. * Engage appropriate Nexeo Plastics team member if any discrepancies exist. * Review paperwork to ensure transport of material is authorized and in compliance. * Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations. * Attend and participate in training meetings. * Perform duties and tasks in a manner consistent with the business responsibilities of a Nexeo Plastics employee. * Operate forklift to pick material, store and stage material as needed. * Bulk off load material from either bulk tank trucks or rail cars using a forklift or a pallet jack or by moving and connecting 50 lb. hoses between the storage vehicle and piping system in load rack as needed.
