Technicians are responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and components. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required. Flexibility and in-depth product knowledge are necessary for this position.
Pay Rate: Starting wage $37.43-$40.69 per hour based on location and experience. This is a union position.

Responsibilities
Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts.
Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
Determines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines.
Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at time of order.
Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components.
Tests, measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components.
Prepares, inspects and operates machines prior to delivery.
Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.

Prepares accurate and complete service reports timely.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
Three years experience as an Earthmoving Shop Technician working with heavy equipment.
Experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar equipment.
Proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.).
Ability to diagnose and repair CAT heavy equipment and components in the field.
DOT and MSHA certifications required.
Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to operate a service vehicle.
Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Strong math skills.
Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
Ability to work in the field without supervision.
Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.
Must have a safe working record.
Preferred Skills and Competencies

Able to lift 30 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 80 pounds independently or with assistance.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing, fixing, upgrading and performing preventative maintenance on various types of equipment such as coin & currency equipment, ATM's, software and specialized office products located at client sites in Montgomery. To guarantee ongoing success, you will work in coordination with branch sales and other service team members.
**Responsibilities and Duties:**
· Service, upgrade and perform preventative maintenance on company electromechanical equipment
· Travel by vehicle, daily, to client sites (90%) with overnight travel as needed (10%) - Some long drive times are encountered depending on geographical territory covered
· Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs
· Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time
· Extended Hours Coverage periods and 'On-Call' duty where applicable
· Safeguard and maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory
· Upkeep and cleanliness of company issued vehicle including scheduled service intervals
· Safeguarding of any company issued assets including tablet computer and mobile phone
· All other duties as required

· Hand and wrist dexterity needed to turn screwdrivers and place parts and equipment
· Phone or desk work about 10% of the time doing computer work, bench repair work, parts stocking, tracking service calls and setting up appointments
· Ability to stand for long periods up to 75% of the time while servicing some equipment

A day in the life
You start your morning in a company-provided vehicle, route set for customer sites across the Virginia Beach/Fredericksburg area. What you will do

TSC is seeking an entry level Elecrtomechanical Technician with experience or interest in cable assemblies, electronic components, and precision mechanical work to support work in our Plymouth, MA location. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about manufacturing best practices within an ISO9000-compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture and assemble electronic assemblies, including:
Soldering (surface-mount and through-hole)
Crimping a wide range of terminals and connectors
Heat-shrink applications and harness routing
Work with printed wiring assemblies (PWAs) and printed circuit boards (PCBs), including component installation, inspection, and rework.
Fabricate and modify sheet metal components using shop tools.
Operate machinery such as but not limited to: drill press, precision hand tools, measurement and inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, torque tools), torque fasteners and mechanical assemblies to specified values using calibrated tools.
Follow all manufacturing best practices, workmanship standards, and engineering documentation (schematics, drawings, work instructions, travelers).
Ensure work adheres to ISO9000 quality management procedures.
Conduct in-process inspections and maintain accurate production records.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support continuous improvements.
Required Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or an electronics assembly role (or equivalent hands-on background)
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Proficiency in electrical cable assembly and soldering (IPC-620 or IPC-610 certification is a plus), crimping and use of manual/automated crimp tools
Efficient in PCB handling and ESD-safe work practices
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read engineering drawings.
Understanding of ISO9000 or similar quality standards.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet production deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.

What will you do in this role?
Provide maintenance and mechanical support to production teams by troubleshooting equipment, understanding the instrumentation and perform repairs as needed and assemble, install, dismantle, and repair machinery, pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, plan, and perform all required operations in preparation for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment within the facility and make proper connections to panels, electronic units, etc.
Perform general repairs to all types of machines or equipment, tear down units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts and reassemble.
Replace parts such as bearing, gears, shafts, worn or broken units or equipment elements and install wire motors and drives for a variety of standard and special purpose machines and equipment. Must demonstrate the use of a multi-meter and have AC/DC drive experience.
Move machines and equipment to the designated area using forklifts, hoists, and other equipment.
Install all types of conduit, making bends, threading, and reaming where necessary.
Perform ordinary machining operations using lathe, milling machine, grinder, drill press, etc.
Perform general maintenance work in all buildings on Flexcon's campus
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements with industry best practices.
Experience and commitment to fulfilling the preventative maintenance program including inspecting, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments to equipment and machines.
Skilled in reading and working from blueprints, drawings, and schematics to complete tasks.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
H.S. Diploma or GED
Knowledge of Allen Bradley equipment and software preferred.
Use a laptop to connect to PLC's and drives to troubleshoot and make repairs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Willing to get your hands dirty

Your Contribution
* Provide for corrective, preventative, predictive, safety and emergency repairs to electrical machinery and electronic equipment utilized in LNS's manufacturing processes.
