Your Role on Our Team: As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will design and deliver analytics products that enable the business to plan, execute, and measure promotions with confidence. You'll partner closely with Pricing, Sales, Channel Marketing, and Finance to translate business needs into scalable models and visualizations, and ensure consistent, reliable access to trusted data. This role is hands-on and end-to-end: sourcing and modeling promotional data (e.g., promo calendars, promotional pricing, POS sell-through, and forecast/actual performance), building pre- and post-promotion analysis, and helping stakeholders understand promotional lift, ROI, and performance drivers. This role emphasizes strong technical craftsmanship, business acumen, and a growing ability to mentor others and drive data culture. You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities: Promotion Performance Measurement: Quantify lift, cannibalization, halo, and ROI using POS and sales data; define KPI/metric logic that becomes the single source of truth. Promotional BI Development: Build and maintain a promotions reporting suite (scalable models, dashboards and reporting) including pre-promo readiness/forecast views and post-promo performance scorecards. Collaborative Requirements Gathering: Partner with business users to translate analytics needs into data models and visualization requirements. Semantic Layer and Data Modeling: Develop curated promotion-centric data models that connect promotion events to items/SKUs, customers, channels, pricing, funding, and outcomes balancing performance, flexibility, and governance. Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues in data pipelines and reports, using structured problem-solving and root cause techniques. Agile Project Execution: Participate in sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives. Break down work into manageable deliverables aligned with business priorities. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate insights, progress, and blockers clearly and regularly with cross-functional partners. Data Governance & Security: Implement and uphold best practices around data stewardship, security, and role-based access controls. Self-Service Enablement: Develop documentation, training materials, and reusable assets that support business user adoption and self-service analytics. Mentorship & Coaching: Provide feedback to peers and junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions. Develop AI Solutions: Apply AI-driven techniques for anomaly detection, data quality checks, and predictive insights within dashboards and reporting solutions. The TOOLS you'll bring with you: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience). Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in BI development, analytics engineering, or data visualization roles. BI Tool Expertise: Deep experience with Power BI (DAX, dataflows, dataset management), and familiarity with Tableau or Looker a plus. Promotions & Pricing Domain Expertise: Demonstrated experience analyzing promotional data (promo events, promotional pricing, promo calendars) and communicating results to business partners.
