As Chief Executive Officer of Ascend Learning, Greg Sebasky looks over the education landscape and sees tremendous opportunity. His vision for the company is clear: Be the leading career solutions provider, delivering outcomes-based online education to help people enter, sustain and succeed in their chosen fields. It’s a path he’s been on since joining Ascend in early 2014. Greg is a 30-year veteran leader of companies with markets in healthcare and education services. Before joining Ascend, Greg served as chairman of Philips Electronics’ North American division. Greg earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Accounting. He lives in the Boston area with his family.

Simon Allen was named CEO of McGraw-Hill in October 2019. Previously he served as President of the company’s Higher Ed and International business units. He rejoined McGraw-Hill in March 2018. Simon has deep experience in educational publishing having led large teams across six continents focused on K-12 and higher education, as well as science, technical and medical digital and print products for professional, governmental and institutional markets. Before joining McGraw-Hill, Simon was the CEO of Macmillan Education, leading the company’s transition from print to blended learning products and solutions. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, International at The McGraw-Hill Companies and during that time was elected President of The Publishers Association in the U.K., serving for three years on its council. Before that, Simon was President, Higher Education at both Pearson Education EMEA and Prentice Hall Europe. Earlier in his career, he held sales leadership roles with the Times Mirror Group in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Simon received his BA with honors from Middlesex University School of Business and completed Executive Education programs in Leadership and Strategic Management at the London Business School.

Brian Kim is a President/CEO at HighRoads Inc and Senior Vice President, Account Management at ikaSystems Corporation and is based in Burlington, Massachusetts. He has worked as Vice President, Partner Management at NaviNet Inc; Director, Business Development at NaviNet Inc; and Manager, Business Development at Acusphere, Inc.. Brian attended Harvard University between 1989 and 1993.

Dr. Bernard Harris, Jr. was born on June 26, 1956, the son of Mrs. Gussie H. Burgess, and Mr. Bernard A. Harris, Sr. A native of Temple, Texas, he graduated from Sam Houston High School, San Antonio, in 1974. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from University of Houston in 1978 before following that up with a doctorate in medicine from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1982.
