- Operate mine equipment, including, but not limited to: miner (machine that cuts ore), roof bolter (to mount a 3’ bolt in the roof of the mine) dozer and shuttle car
- Execute tasks to assist in production process, such as: change bits in miner, move power cables, and hand shovel conveyor belt tail sections
- Complete pre-shift inspections, as well as preventative maintenance and equipment clean up, to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum one (1) year general labor and/or industrial plant experience

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
10-hour workday, 4 days a week at minimum, with a weekly rotating shift schedule. Schedule subject to change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing, walking, sitting (while driving) over 2/3 of work time, squatting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and fingers movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity
A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.

The Position
Mine Equipment Operator
Job Summary
1. Operates various Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) to haul crude or overburden to the blend piles, dump, or any other designated area. Additionally, may haul rejected material which includes manually removing material from inside of the trailer.
2. Counts and logs the number of loads hauled.
3. Conducts safety inspection at start of shift and reports performance and condition of truck to supervisor. Completes daily safety checklist/equipment log(s) accurately.
4. Responsible for knowing all designated quarry work locations.
5. Responsible for knowing and being certified on all organic safety equipment.
6. Assists in major and minor mechanical repairs to equipment as required.
7. Conduct refueling operations.
8. Perform recovery operations if the HME becomes stuck or disabled (example: hand shoveling, hooking upchains and/or cables, etc.).
9. Other duties as assigned (cleaning, sweeping, shoveling, etc.).
10. During inclement weather or when production requirements demand, the employee can be temporarily reassigned to other areas on the site to perform other work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty presented above satisfactorily. Designated internal and/or external trainers as well as supervisors will determine if the individual meets these qualifications.
