This position operates the boilers and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce steam for operations.
The Boiler House Operator must direct the operation of the boilers and associated equipment to produce steam as required, safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all environmental permits.
The Boiler House Operator must understand and operate the following and any related equipment:
Boilers
Turbines
Fuels and Fuel Handling Systems
Feed Water Systems
Boiler Water Chemistry and Testing, and Chemical Treatment
Ash Handling
Environmental Control Systems
Other Specialized Equipment
Assist in training boiler house personnel and assure they are knowledgeable and competent in their assigned jobs.
Assure that all work areas are kept clean within the food safety, feed safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Complete reports as required. (Must be able to certify understanding of environmental requirements.)
Develop the process and mechanical skills of self and others through training.
Utilize resources including staffing, time, equipment, and material in the most efficient manner.
Report mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, food safety, feed safety, and operational problems, and unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Other duties as required by the business.

Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
First Class Engineer, Grade A Boiler Operators license. Chief Engineer, Grade A Boiler Operators license desired.
