MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time Patient Service Representative for our Minnetonka clinic. SUMMARY The Patient Service Representative is responsible for welcoming patients and visitors to MEC in a warm and friendly manner and helping to prepare for their visit. This includes problem resolution and assisting with paperwork including demographics, insurance information, and collecting co-payments and/or past due balances in a timely manner. Starting pay is $20.00/hour. LOCATION & SCHEDULE This position is based in our Minnetonka clinic but will be required to work shifts at other MEC clinics as needed. This position will work an 8 hour shift Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5pm with one day staying until 8:00p. Also, there is a Saturday morning from 7:30am-12:00p (would then get a half day off during the week) once per month. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Welcome patients and visitors in a warm, friendly, prompt manner as the first point of contact in the overall patient experience and assist with navigational needs and appointment scheduling. Verify, obtain, enter and update patient demographics, insurance, referring physician, primary care provider, and other required fields as assigned. Assist patients with completion of pertinent forms including but not limited to medical history, patient agreement, workers compensation. Collect patient payments for self-pay appointments, co-payments, outstanding balances, and fees for contact lens related items. Daily cash reconciliation and posting of cash batch. Coordinate and assist patients with transportation needs. Prepare patient charts in advance for both clinic and laser visits including printing fee tickets for add on appointments. Prepare surgery and dry eye patient packets and laser post-op kits. Distribute daily visit paperwork. Scan patient paperwork into the electronic health record. Facilitate lobby safety and cleanliness as well as cleaning lanyards and badges. Comply with established standards and protocols of MEC goals and objectives including compliance with HIPAA and PHI standards and protocols. Other duties as assigned. MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Float Medical Scribe. This position will be required to travel to all locations (Bloomington, Minnetonka, Blaine and Woodbury). Position Summary: The Scribe assists the Doctors of Ophthalmology and/or Optometry with documentation of the patient exam into the patient's electronic health record (EHR). The Scribe will also assist with facilitation of surgery and procedure scheduling and scheduling of return appointments as directed by the provider. Partners with other clinic staff to facilitate efficient clinic flow and ensure quality patient care. Starting pay is $18.50-21.00/hour. Schedule: This position works Monday-Friday with hours varying between 7:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday mornings on rotation 7:30a-12p. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Document patient exam in EHR, scribing all elements of the patient exam including contact lens template, procedure orders, e-prescribing medications and scheduling the return to clinic. Schedule return appointments and/or enter recalls in Electronic Practice Management (EPM) as ordered by the provider, including referrals to outside providers Other duties as assigned. Education and/or experience required: High schedule diploma or equivalent. No previous experience required. Great experience for future medical students Keyboarding and computer knowledge. SUMMARY The Elective Services Consultant works with surgeons, clinic staff members, and patients for growth of the elective service line. SUMMARY The Nurse Liaison ensures that surgical patients are medically optimized for their surgical procedures. This includes providing support to the providers by answering surgical patient calls, e-prescribing medications, triaging patient concerns, answering general patient phone calls and other medical administrative responsibilities such as patient paperwork to ensure superior patient care. Starting pay is $28.00-31.00/hour. RESPONSIBILITIES Complete all preoperative surgical calls (Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)). Ensure surgical chart is complete (H&P, blood work, EKG, IOL pick, surgery order). Triage patient calls regarding ocular concerns. Determines clinic visit necessity. Document all calls using the Patient Communication log in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Review all pathology reports; contacts patients and/or provider with results as directed and records communication in EHR. Complete medication refill requests obtained via fax, phone call or patient portal. Answer patient calls and/or portal requests to provide education, answer questions, etc. to ensure superior patient care. Send tasks via EHR when necessary to enlist the assistance of other team members. Complete same day post-operative surgical calls. Position Summary: The Scribe assists the Doctors of Ophthalmology and/or Optometry with documentation of the patient exam into the patient's electronic health record (EHR). SUMMARY The Surgical Technologist prepares supplies, equipment and instrumentation for each surgery performed in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The Surgical Technologist will assist the physician with the maintenance of the sterile field and all supplies for each surgery. These individuals also assist the Nurse Manager in the maintenance of supply inventory. Starting pay is $35.00-38.00/hour. LOCATION/SCHEDULE This position will be based in Minnetonka and is 0.8-1.0 FTE (approximately 32-40 hours/week). Hours vary between 6am-4pm, Monday - Friday. While Minnetonka is designated as the home location, travel may be required to all Minnesota Eye locations: Blaine, Bloomington, Crosstown and Woodbury. MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a Casual Ophthalmic Tech Must be available at least two Saturdays per month from 7a-1p and able to travel to all locations: Minnetonka, Crosstown, Bloomington, Blaine and Woodbury. Position Summary This position is responsible for performing measurements and tests that provide the physician with the information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. This position primarily works with Doctors of Optometry but may see patients for any MEC provider within their skill-set. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Welcome and acknowledge all patients and guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank others with genuine appreciation. Obtain complete patient histories including chief complaint, past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications. Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic information necessary for ophthalmic examinations. This includes but is not limited to: history, visual acuities, lensometry (manual and auto), refractometry, keratometry (manual and automated), visual fields, tonometry, assisting with office procedures Educate patients regarding diagnostic testing and their clinic visit Open and close exam rooms, ensure all equipment is clean and ready for the doctor; stock all necessary supplies Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience within an eye clinic or Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant or LPN experience Optometry or Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required About Us: At MEC, our areas of expertise range from cataract surgery and premium lens implants, treatment of corneal disease and glaucoma, oculofacial and aesthetic services, to LASIK - laser vision correction. MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Ophthalmic Technician I for our Woodbury clinic. Position Summary This position is responsible for performing measurements and tests that provide the physician with the information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. This position primarily works with Doctors of Optometry but may see patients for any MEC provider within their skill-set. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour. Location/Schedule This position will work Monday-Friday, between 7:30am-5:00pm. May require an occasional 1/2 day on Saturday. The home base of this position is the Woodbury clinic, but may be scheduled to work shifts at the other MEC locations as needed (Bloomington, Blaine and Minnetonka).
