UVP has a new opening for a Technical Support Specialist in Minnetonka. SUMMARY The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for day to day end user and systems support and maintenance. Starting pay is $24.00-27.00/hour. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Utilize ticketing system to receive, troubleshoot, and resolve support requests. * Work closely with Application Specialists to support, troubleshoot and resolve core application issues. * Coordinate with third party vendors and additional IT resources to provide technical support to end users via phone, email and/or in person. * Participate and assist with new software and hardware implementations, create documentation, and perform software testing and evaluation as needed. Implementations or new deployments may require hours to be worked after regularly scheduled weekday hours or on weekends dependent on each situation. * Work closely with users from all levels on related projects to utilize resources, prioritize tasks, and ensure quality and on-time delivery. * Adhere to all regulatory requirements. Assist with the development of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements. * Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE * 1-2 years' experience in a support role in Information Technology. * Previous Healthcare IT experience preferred. * Functional knowledge of Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Active Directory required. * Very strong conceptual, analytical, judgment and communication abilities, with an emphasis on the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. HOURS & TRAVEL * Must be able to travel to all UVP MN locations as needed. Must have a reliable transportation. Company will reimburse for mileage when traveling between sites. MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time Patient Service Representative for our Minnetonka clinic. SUMMARY The Patient Service Representative is responsible for welcoming patients and visitors to MEC in a warm and friendly manner and helping to prepare for their visit. This includes problem resolution and assisting with paperwork including demographics, insurance information, and collecting co-payments and/or past due balances in a timely manner. Starting pay is $20.00/hour. LOCATION & SCHEDULE This position is based in our Minnetonka clinic but will be required to work shifts at other MEC clinics as needed. This position will work an 8 hour shift Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5pm with one day staying until 8:00p. Also, there is a Saturday morning from 7:30am-12:00p (would then get a half day off during the week) once per month. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Welcome patients and visitors in a warm, friendly, prompt manner as the first point of contact in the overall patient experience and assist with navigational needs and appointment scheduling. * Verify, obtain, enter and update patient demographics, insurance, referring physician, primary care provider, and other required fields as assigned. * Assist patients with completion of pertinent forms including but not limited to medical history, patient agreement, workers compensation. * Collect patient payments for self-pay appointments, co-payments, outstanding balances, and fees for contact lens related items. * Daily cash reconciliation and posting of cash batch. * Coordinate and assist patients with transportation needs. * Prepare patient charts in advance for both clinic and laser visits including printing fee tickets for add on appointments. * Prepare surgery and dry eye patient packets and laser post-op kits. * Distribute daily visit paperwork. * Scan patient paperwork into the electronic health record. * Facilitate lobby safety and cleanliness as well as cleaning lanyards and badges. * Comply with established standards and protocols of MEC goals and objectives including compliance with HIPAA and PHI standards and protocols. * Other duties as assigned. Position Summary: The Scribe assists the Doctors of Ophthalmology and/or Optometry with documentation of the patient exam into the patient's electronic health record (EHR). The Scribe will also assist with facilitation of surgery and procedure scheduling and scheduling of return appointments as directed by the provider. Partners with other clinic staff to facilitate efficient clinic flow and ensure quality patient care. Starting pay is $18.50-21.00/hour. Schedule: This position works Monday-Friday with hours varying between 7:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday mornings on rotation 7:30a-12p. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Document patient exam in EHR, scribing all elements of the patient exam including contact lens template, procedure orders, e-prescribing medications and scheduling the return to clinic. MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time (32-40 hours/week) Surgical Technologist for our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Minnetonka. SUMMARY The Surgical Technologist prepares supplies, equipment and instrumentation for each surgery performed in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The Surgical Technologist will assist the physician with the maintenance of the sterile field and all supplies for each surgery. These individuals also assist the Nurse Manager in the maintenance of supply inventory. Starting pay is $35.00-38.00/hour. LOCATION/SCHEDULE This position will be based in Minnetonka and is 0.8-1.0 FTE (approximately 32-40 hours/week). Hours vary between 6am-4pm, Monday - Friday. While Minnetonka is designated as the home location, travel may be required to all Minnesota Eye locations: Blaine, Bloomington, Crosstown and Woodbury. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gathers needed procedure appropriate supplies for each surgery. Opens surgical supplies, sets up sterile field and maintains sterile field using aseptic technique. Identifies any break in sterile technique. Anticipates the surgeons needs and requests appropriate supplies prior to their immediate need. Updates surgeon preference cards as needed. Reports missing or malfunctioning equipment and instruments to the RN in a timely manner. Operates equipment required to perform job in a safe and efficient manner. Performs sharp and sponge counts with the RN according to policy. Disposes of sharps and hazardous materials according to policy and utilizes PPE. Washes and reprocesses instrumentation according to established standards and ASC policy. Organizes storage area for instruments and supplies under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Labels medication on the sterile field. Accounts for and verifies amounts, reporting totals to both the surgeon and the RN circulator. Maintains knowledge of commonly used local anesthetics, antibiotics, and topical hemostats. Assist RN as directed with physician orders according to patient needs. Assists in initial Operating Room (OR) set up, including wet mopping floor and wiping down all flat surfaces and assists in initial decontamination room set up. Cleans OR with appropriate disinfecting agents. Assists in end of day clean up procedures. Participates in staff meetings and in-services, accurately maintaining education file. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and a minimum of one year. Current BCLS certification required or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment. Surgical Technologist certification is strongly preferred. SUMMARY Provides professional, high quality, safe and efficient peri-operative nursing care to patients. Roles include circulating, scrubbing, preoperative and postoperative areas as assigned. Starting pay is $38.00-42.00/hour. RESPONSIBILITIES * Evaluation of self-practice in context with professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations. * Acquires and maintains current knowledge in nursing practice. * Obtains patients' medical history and performs physical assessment for assigned patients. * Presents the historical and physical data to the physician to aid in determining the diagnostic and therapeutic measures necessary to correct the patient's problem. * Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or practice policy including patient and family instruction; explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension. * Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient; administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques; prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies for surgery. * Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions and notifies Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents; takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient. * Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient; responds to emergency situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol. * Participates in training of personnel. Pre-Operative duties: * Responsible for preparing the patient for the anticipated surgical procedure, including obtaining an informed consent, completing a pre-operative patient assessment and performing any procedure or administering medications required to prepare the patient for surgery. * Communicates with the circulating nurse, the recovery room nurse, the anesthesia care provider and the surgeon to coordinate a safe and comfortable surgical experience. * She/He participates in patient education, makes nursing diagnoses and plans nursing care. Post-Operative duties: * Responsible for patient assessment and maintaining the patients safety in recovering from anesthetic and surgical medications * Responsible for ensuring that the patient understands their post-operative care requirements * Collaborates with other peri-operative nursing staff, anesthesia care providers and the surgeon * Assesses patient outcomes * Other duties as assigned. Circulating Nurse duties (if applicable): * Assesses patient condition before, during and after the procedure to ensure optimal patient outcomes. * Responsible for maintaining sterile technique in the operating room to ensure patient safety * Supervises any unlicensed assertive personnel in the operating room. * Responsible for ensuring that postoperative physician orders are communicated to the recovery room nursing staff for implementation. * Develops a plan of care and evaluates patient outcomes. * Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for the patient. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Completion of accredited Registered Nursing Program from college or technical school. Two years RN experience in a hospital and/or surgery center setting. MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a Casual Ophthalmic Tech Must be available at least two Saturdays per month from 7a-1p and able to travel to all locations: Minnetonka, Crosstown, Bloomington, Blaine and Woodbury. Position Summary This position is responsible for performing measurements and tests that provide the physician with the information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. This position primarily works with Doctors of Optometry but may see patients for any MEC provider within their skill-set. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Welcome and acknowledge all patients and guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank others with genuine appreciation. Obtain complete patient histories including chief complaint, past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications. Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic information necessary for ophthalmic examinations.
