Our Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) in Willmar, MN is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered OccupationalTherapist to join our team and make a difference in the lives of others. We provide mental health services for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-18) with serious behavioral and emotional conditions.
**Job duties include:**
+ Working collaboratively with the rehabilitation director and other CABHH occupationaltherapists to bring evidence-based, innovative occupational therapy services to the program. Environment offers limitless possibilities, including use of a designated sensory room, use of secure outdoor courtyards, and indoor gross motor activity space.
+ Plans and implements occupational therapy interventions based on the assessment, evaluation, client goals, current best practice and clinical reasoning.Services will focus on specialized interventions that build skills and motivation for recovery and relapse prevention. Examples include: use of music, drumming, yoga, art, sensory strategies, animal assisted interventions, and more.
+ Team support to help staff adapt to individual needs and modify the environment to enhance learning and client engagement in treatment.
+ Documentation of all occupational therapy services provided is completed per policy & procedure.
+ Evaluates the functional abilities and occupational participation of clients using a variety of standardized and non-standardized tests.
**Minimum Qualifications**
To qualify, applicants must be licensed to practice occupational therapy in the state of Minnesota; OR be currently licensed to practice occupational therapy in another state and must obtain licensure in Minnesota prior to appointment.

Treatment is based on behavioral science theories and medical science and is elevated in corroboration with the supervising physician.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Independently develops, implements, and evaluates therapeutic rehabilitation programs within the framework of HBPC, in GEC Service. Considers the populations served by the medical center when assessing and validating the knowledge, skills, and ability of clients to fulfill therapy goals and interventions.
* Implements the treatment plan by providing direct patient care; procuring necessary equipment/adaptive devices; instructing and training the client and caregiver concerning exercises, activities of daily living, rehabilitation techniques, and equipment/adaptive devices; and recommending community referrals.
* Provides follow-up assessments after equipment has been provided to assure correct use and understanding of the equipment.
* Carries primary responsibility for providing in-home physical therapy assessments, and the planning, and administration and management of rehabilitation in the home for patients of the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) and Home-Based Primary Care Program (HBPC).
* The Physical Therapist provides in-home services to patients with a wide variety of multiple, complex chronic illnesses and/or profound disabilities. The population served is composed of Veterans enrolled in the Hampton VAMC from all age groups who receive their primary care at either the medical center or one of the affiliated CBOCs or by a HBPC physician. Flexibility with a diverse population of veterans is essential.
* Communicates effectively within a multidisciplinary service to provide quality care with compassion and a commitment to excellence.
* Decisions are made in the community without onsite supervision of another health care professional. You must demonstrate a high ability and skill in professional autonomy as well as recognizes the team cohesiveness necessary to meet the needs of a population with chronic longitudinal and often debilitating health care needs.

Under the supervision of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, this internship program has been designed to align with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) job analysis areas and meets NCTRC internship standards. The Therapeutic Recreation Intern assists in planning and facilitating a variety of recreational programs and inclusion services for individuals with disability- related needs in a community setting.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The City of Brooklyn Park Recreation & Parks division is hiring for two Summer interns. This internship is a duration of 15-weeks, 600 total hours. The start date is subject to the availability of the candidate.
* Follows procedures and policies as set by the City of Brooklyn Park to ensure the safe operation of programs. Responsible for maintaining safe practices and conditions in community recreation environment.
* Leads and assists with classes and trips, and events as assigned. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of programs. Internship will include approximately 20 hours of direct program involvement with participants per week.
* Encourages positive interactions among participants through group facilitation and provides necessary assistance to facilitate independence and successful learning for each individual.
* Participates as a member of the Brooklyn Park Recreation & Parks team. Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, Department-wide meetings, and partner meetings.
* In consultation with internship supervisor, plans, organizes, coordinates, conducts, and evaluates at least one special project or program independently, as well as conducts at least one case study assignment.
* Work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
* Develop goals with specific objectives for the internship with timelines.
* Become acquainted with community resources and services for people with disability- related needs in the Brooklyn Park area.
* Assist the Adaptive Recreation Specialist with on-going tasks such as assessments, communications with families, site visits, inclusion planning, marketing, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) project tasks, and other duties as assigned.
* Identify risks, implement solutions, and maintain a safe and positive environment for program participants and the general public.
* Meet weekly with supervisor to review program involvements, clarify expectations, review internship objectives, discuss successes and concerns, and ask questions.
* Keep accurate records and process necessary forms and reports.
* Work cooperatively with staff, participants, parents/guardians, care provides, and related agencies.
* Support and respect diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Education
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Pursuing educational requirements through a Recreational Therapy program at a university or college, per National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) standards.
Experience

Licenses/Certifications/Training
* Current driver's license by the start date
* Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification are required - check with internship supervisor on ways to obtain within 2 weeks of hire if not already certified.

Desired Qualifications
* Three (3)+ years of experience working with people with disability- related needs, especially youth and teens, as a staff or volunteer.
* Be able to provide inclusion services within a variety of recreation programs, including youth day programs, sports camps, ice skating lessons, swimming lessons, and more.
* Current certification related to program leadership within related field.
* Completion of additional training in Autism, social/emotional support, recreational therapy, special education, or related field.
* Previous experience working with people from various cultural, socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
* Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Somali, Lao or Vietnamese.

* Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to extended periods of sitting, standing, and moving about, facilitating a variety of recreational activities during the day.
* Interns may need to be able to lift objects weighing up to 30lbs.

**This rewarding position is providing routine dental care within the scope of the licensed Advanced Dental Therapist (ADT) to individuals with Developmental/Intellectual disabilities, Severe Mental Health issues and people who have suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury.**
**Responsibilities**
+ Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
+ Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
+ Deliver compassionate patient care, particularly for individuals with developmental disabilities.
