This position is the backup to the MIS Manager. They are responsible for managing network and client work management databases and acting as systems administrator, Ensure dissemination, reporting, compliance, and verification processes and procedures are effective and efficient. Assist Atlas Security Officer with reporting security violations and incident handling.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:


Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. Provide EXCALIBUR, SORD and related client database administration and site support for all project personnel. Train supervisors and/or new employees on use of work management tools such as EXCALIBUR. Evaluate factors such as number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, reporting formats required volume of transactions, time requirements and cost constraints, and need for security and access restrictions to determine hardware configurations. Maintain network system and administer customer relationship management system. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and system that will provide capability for proposed project or workload, efficient operation and effective use of allotted space. Enter data into computer terminal to store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Perform database-programming duties and train users to use the existing and/or new or modified equipment. Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with project specifications. Evaluate need for and arrange off-site facilities for data archiving, storage, and access. Consult with departments to identify key personnel and contacts and establishes notification processes for communicating in the event of emergencies. Manage the implementation of disaster recovery plans in the event of a disaster or emergency that interrupts normal information system operations. Manage and work information assurance help desk tickets, and coordinate with Project Manager and subordinate units Develop and Maintain and ensure Stable Operation of Organization's Network and Databases.


Qualifications/Education
:

Four-year college degree or equivalent work related experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in Network Administration Management Experience within Information Technology business.

Summary

The MIS Specialist supports, advises, and maintains, various computer operations throughout a facility, including technical support, telecommunication, computer operations, and network administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • The MIS Specialist provides technical support to ensure that personal computers and server (hardware and software) are performing properly. Coordinates with the Corporate and/or Regional staff on an as needed basis or with other duties as assigned.
  • The MIS Specialist tracks technology inventory.
  • Performs necessary research on specifications and orders hardware and software inventory required to be fully functional and in compliance with Corporate standards.
  • May monitor the facility computer operation's budget in conjunction with Regional I.T. staff.
  • Maintains security administration of systems and assigns local domain log-in profile and passwords for staff as necessary; ensures that users have access to appropriate applications and files that will allow them to perform their assigned duties.
  • Creates, maintains, modifies, and produces accurate and timely reports using Crystal Reports on GEOnet system.
  • Collaborates with the training department to develop and implement system training on a regular basis to all appropriate staff personnel.
  • Maintains daily backups on LAN and restores when required.
  • Maintains security, operation and maintenance of system.
  • Ensures strict adherence to software licensing rules and maintains careful records.
  • Generates reports and summaries requiring technical expertise on utilization, projected needs and other areas as requested by management.
  • Travels to other facilities not limited to the staff's home region as needed.
  • General knowledge of telephone systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
