Mission Manager
As a Mission Manager, you will work directly with ABL's customers and engineering team to successfully deliver payloads to orbit. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple missions on the ABL manifest, including delivery of commercial and government cubesats, smallsats, and other small payloads. Mission managers additionally provide technical support on business proposals, track and deliver on contractual mission requirements, create interface control documentation, plan and oversee payload integration activities, and host customer meetings/reviews. We are looking for team members who enjoy a variety of challenges, can communicate effectively, thrive in a fast-paced environment and share our passion for creating a seamless and premier end-to-end customer integration and launch experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Support business development in technical customer interchanges and proposal writing Manage contractual deliverables from contract signing through to successful payload delivery on orbit Serve as a primary point of contact for ABL customers, including reporting, leading reviews, scope negotiation, and operations planning Proactively strive to create a smooth and streamlined mission integration process for both internal and external stakeholders Work across engineering teams on mission design, schedule, and requirements, ensuring proper flow down of requirements between the customer and the internal team Create Interface Control Documentation (ICD) and generate requirements for payload-to-launch vehicle interfaces Lead, perform, and drive requirements verification and validation activities Oversee hands-on payload integration activities Develop operations plans and products for successful payload integration and mission operations Provide mentorship to Mission Integration Engineers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field2+ years prior experience in Mission Management, Mission Integration, or Technical Program/Project Management5+ years prior engineering experience in a related field such as systems engineering, project/program management, payloads, spacecraft subsystems, or launch operations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Active TS/SCI or DoD Secret clearance, or willingness to pursue a clearance Excellent verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail Ability to work extended hours to meet milestones and deadlines Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for launch operations and customer-related activities (such as fit checks or industry conferences)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Prior project management experience, including work with MS Project or other schedule management tools Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (such as Solidworks) Prior experience in sales, business development, or other direct experience with external customers Experience using requirements management software such as JAMA, DOORS, Jira, or similar tools Prior experience working with the US GovernmentPrior hands-on experience on a technical project

+ Working on the XL-1 lunar lander for the South Pole mission

**What You Will Be Doing With US** **:**

+ Interact with small satellite stakeholders, with U.S. Government program office staff, and with industry representatives to plan and execute the Mission Requirements of one or more small satellites onto a launch system while meeting cost, schedule, and do-no-harm expectations

+ Roll-up your sleeves and perform some of the engineering and integration work needed to meet schedule and deliver a quality product

+ Manage development and maintenance of Mission Requirements Documents with multi-manifest space vehicles, work with launch providers to develop and verify interface control documents and lead development of the multi-manifest integrated flight system solution for assigned missions

+ Responsible in the delivery of the integration products and the multi-manifest payload carrier hardware that will be employed on the flight

+ Support prior integration efforts as an engineer or analyst developing integration products or producing verification packages to support confirming compatibility between the spacecraft and launch system

**What We Need from You** **:**

+ **Active Secret and ability to obtain TS/SSBI**

+ BS degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or other STEM degree, with demonstrated experience in this mission domain ( In lieu of a degree, **10 or more years of relevant experience** may suffice)

+ 10+ years' experience in government or industry supporting space, aerospace, or related defense programs

+ Experience in the spacecraft or launch integration domain on commercial or U.S. Government programs

+ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage multiple customers request simultaneously

+ Ability and willing to work on-site/in the lab

+ Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% possible with expectation of support to the launch campaign at a CONUS launch site as the system approached launch
