After the baby's birth, the birth tissue's cellular components and amniotic membrane can be repurposed to create products for wound healing, scar tissue repair, and wound tissue regeneration. Birth tissue can be used for face and eye injuries, burns, oral surgeries, spine surgeries, diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, bed sores, and a variety of other soft tissue healing. Compile physician and sonographer competency / registry and CME attendance records. d. Routinely review cardiac sonographer exams as part of a formal quality assurance program. 2. Training and Education a. Assess the educational needs and competencies of cardiac sonographer staff and interns and develop, schedule, coordinate, and conduct educational programming for new and existing staff to improve quality of care and reduce variation in workflow. b. Maintain an up to date knowledge of echocardiography trends and best practice and conduct, participate in, facilitate, and utilize research to foster evidence-based practice. c. Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of patient care related to echocardiography. d. Attend and participate in echocardiography leadership activities. e. Quality/Innovation on echo protocols, policies and procedures f. Maintain relationships with technical colleges and oversee student interns. 3. Clinical Support a. Perform patient evaluations including verifying patient identity, reviewing the medical record for orders and prior studies, and addressing patient questions and concerns. b. Perform echocardiograms including 2D / Doppler with and without contrast, dobutamine stress and exercise stress echo exams, and transesophogeal echocardiograms according to protocol. c. Complete appropriate documentation, post processing, and preliminary findings in the medical record and cardiovascular PACS system. d. Acquire and maintain training and competency in electronic health record system as required to perform duties. e. Maintain personal competency file if applicable.     This position is responsible for registry assignments and maintaining staffing schedules in conjunction with nursing management in order to assist in the provision of high quality service to patients and staff. Maintains the staffing system according to policies and procedures and as directed. Assists in the development and maintenance of records essential to staffing and regulatory compliance, provides centralized scheduling support to Nurse Managers, receives and processes calls for staffing requests, maintains productivity records, and ensures accurate billing to outside agencies/vendors. Provides adequate staff of nursing personnel for all shifts through the compilation and maintenance of staffing schedules and staffing forms, refers to established unit staffing patterns and acuity system to forecast minimum staffing requirements for each nursing area, actively seeks coverage before contacting agency employees. Assures that calls to employees/agencies are made in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. Maintains current roster of nursing personnel and contact information. Schedules and posts calendar containing vital information to nursing personnel. Communicates and follows the organizational chain of command for notification of service issues, when appropriate. Maintains contract nursing staff records, assures compliance with regulatory requirements for information such as license/certification expiration dates. Under the guidance of the specific nursing department manager, the Staffing Coordinator adjusts, when necessary, staffing patterns based on patient acuity. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care for the adolescent through geriatric population, including but not limited to identifying the need for additional safety measures, observing/reporting behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education (Indicate minimum education or degree required.) High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education (Indicate preferred education or degree required.) Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate minimum years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.) Minimum two years recent secretarial/clerical experience in an acute care setting Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
