Mission to the World company history timeline

1977

When John Kyle resigned from MTW to join Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1977, seasoned evangelist and cross-cultural missionary Paul McKaughan stepped into the gap as the organization’s second coordinator, leading MTW through the next decade of growing ministry.

1983

In 1983, MTW merged with World Presbyterian Missions, nearly doubling MTW’s number of missionaries.

1989

When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, formerly communist Eastern Europe was suddenly open to Christian missionaries.

2000

Ends of the earth 1600 - 2000 - completing the Great Commission

2001

In 2001, MTW started a global mercy ministry to street children, beginning with works in Peru, Kenya, and Romania.

2014
