Become a critical part of our Ste. Genevieve team that support the needs of our surface plant operations. This is a union position where you can bid into a job after 30 days. Some of the jobs include: * Kiln Operators * Operation of mills, including monitoring feed system supplying the mills and the process itself. * Inspecting, cleaning, loading, and sealing of rail cars and /or tractor trailers. * Monitor product quality by obtaining product samples and performing quality control testing. * Lime Bin Attendant * Monitor and direct flow of product from lime elevator to lime bins. * Load product into bulk trucks * Lime Loader * Work with locomotive operator and/or rail car mover to move rail cars. * Inspect and clean rail cars for loading. * Load lime products into rail cars for shipment * Front-End Loader Operator * Transfer material from stockpile to hopper using a front-end loader. * Maintain cleanliness of coal belts, coke silos, and surrounding area. * Utility Operator * Use sandblaster and/or high-pressure washer to clean scrubber, tanks, fans, duct work, and other items related to the we-scrubber systems. * Surface Equipment Operator * Operate mobile equipment (fork truck, bobcat, dump truck, haul truck, etc.) * Loco Operator * Operate locomotive to move rail cars in lime loading system. * …And more! About the Job Optimize maintenance performance by continually striving to reduce downtime through proactive planning. The Project Manager supplies support for capital spending, major outages, and minor maintenance projects in that area. They collaborate closely with the Finance Department to assess the feasibility of investing capital in projects, navigate and expedite projects through the capital approval process, and help the areas plan and justify their capital spending. Key function of the position is to manage the project, not necessarily to fully engineer project. * Supervise and lead the capital spending processes in the assigned area * Project Justification: quickly perform preliminary feasibility studies and perform ROI calculations with minimal input from finance * Expediently give feedback to shareholders on project costs and project benefits. * Project Implementation: * Oversee and manage engineering resources to ensure project success. * Identify stakeholders for each project, communicate with them, and manage expectations. * Provide construction management supervision and represent MLC in the project construction phase. Ensure MLC Engineering standards and Safety standards are followed throughout the entire project timeline. * Define the scopes of work and provide project cost estimates for construction and engineering. * Prepare bid packages, solicit bids, evaluate bids, and issue requisitions for materials * Maintain compliance with all State and Federal Environmental Laws and Regulations in the design of repairs to equipment or the installation of new systems. * Issue project schedules and periodic reports on capital project activities in accordance with established policy. * Communicate activities with other corporate functions, including Safety and Health, Environmental Affairs, Purchasing, and Sales, to ensure timely information exchange and coordination of work. * Work with Purchasing to acquire quotations for equipment and services. * Project Execution and Close: track project costs and notify appropriate spending approaches of approved spending limits in accordance with established policy. Report costs monthly on active projects, notifying management immediately if the project will go over cost by more than 10%. Ensure that when the project is almost over, all stakeholders are still satisfied and getting what they desire. * Kiln Shutdowns: give assistance with kiln, accept assignments from the Area Maintenance, aid wherever needed during the outage * Participate in prioritization of work * Build technical troubleshooting skills in manufacturing personnel * Train and develop Co-Op/Interns. Participate in interviewing and staffing development of the Co-Op Program * Assist in the management of external resources * Identify and address gaps in manufacturing personnel capabilities. * Develops systems to train and transfer support of plant requirements to operators and supervisors to improve operating discipline to begin cost savings/improvement projects. * Audit all policies and standards. Supports/completes site wide safety audits * Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed. Required Qualifications * Education: A bachelor's degree is required; Mechanical Engineering is preferred. * Experience: 8 to 10 years' experience in project management preferred. 5 years' experience in heavy industrial project management is required * Certifications: Certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred * Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate with all functional groups and through all levels of MLC. Ability to utilize project management and other engineering tools to optimize project execution. Ability to respond decisively to emergencies, as well as exercise sound judgment in problem-solving.
